North Prairie Ranch
North Prairie Ranch is a small family farm located in Doty, WA. We raise and sell 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef. No Hormones, No Antibiotics. Ever.
We are proud to be a reliable source of natural beef for our community.
One last push today, then hay season 2024 will be in the books!
“This is my favorite part of hay season”
I overheard the conversation between these two as I drove them around the hay field, kicking off loose hay while we waited for the crew to finish up in the barn.
Farm kids are awesome 😎 💪
Special delivery this morning to our local school 😊
A handful of schools in our area were awarded a WSDA farm to school grant.
This is a great program where the goal is to connect schools with Washington State farms and ranches in order to get local meat and produce on the lunch menu.
We are honored they chose to purchase some beef from us, and we can’t wait to hear what meals it ends up being used for.
Off to the races with hay season 2024!
The calves are off to a great start this year. Grow babies, Grow!
Joined the bee box crew.
Now we just need to rustle up some tenants 🐝
Happy 2nd birthday to our boy Jack the farm pup 🐶
He’s a wanna be cow dog, but really excels at sun bathing and lounging by the wood stove.

“Buildin’ stuff” 🔨🔨🔨😅
We paid a visit to our local fair and rodeo earlier this week.
Had to stop and check out our friends’ 4H animals before making our way to the elephant ears 😋
How is your freezer looking???
Our custom half and whole beef shares are sold out, but we do have limited ground beef shares available!
We will be harvesting this weekend, so beef will be ready towards the end of August.

“The stash”
All farmers have them.
Dusty old boxes full of random nuts, bolts, washers, pins, etc… never know when you might need them again 🤷♀️
The stash saved us from making a trip to town last night and we got the hay rake put back together. 🥳
We snuck away to Montana for a few days.
It was beautiful, and the boys had lots of fun trying to catch every fish in the lake 😆
“Just keep swimming”
Halfway done with hay season 2023. We had an extremely dry spring, so most fields in our area are giving less than half of their typical yield.
Add in some mechanical issues and juggling our day jobs with the kid’s baseball seasons… the last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind 🤪
Mini donkeys would blend right in with the sheep, right? They might even qualify as livestock guardians? 😆
These little cuties do not belong to us. But man, they were cute!
The weather forecast shifted on us and we got some rain this weekend 🥳
Our fields really need the moisture so the grass doesn’t dry up too early for grazing.
Since we weren’t cutting hay, it was time to catch up on yard work. This kid really wanted to run the w**d eater, so I assigned him the trees with the trunk guards 😅
The flock has been out in the back pasture for a few weeks now.
They’ve shed most of their winter coats and the lambs are getting big!
All hands on deck as we get ready to start cutting hay.
