This month’s Alzheimer’s support group meeting courtesy of Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, Jewish Family and Children's Service - JFCS of Southern New Jersey, and Lions Gate presented by Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter is just one week away.

This group provides a safe place for people living with dementia and their care partners to:

🟣Talk through issues and ways of coping
🟣Sharing feelings, needs, and concerns
🟣Learn about community resources

📣Exciting news! Starting this month, our Aleph Adult Day Center will be offering chair yoga led by Sue Polikoff, Certified Yoga Instructor at the Katz JCC.

Chair yoga helps “build strength and stability to help prevent falls, improve flexibility, promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, stress, and promote deep breathing” said Sue.

We’re excited to announce that our Aleph Adult Day Center will be moving to the newest upgraded property, the Jonathan Sinay Building located at 1721 Springdale Road, THIS FALL!

The property, which has been owned and operated by the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey since 2014, has been completely renovated and will serve as the new home of our Adult Day Center as well as the Jewish Family and Children's Service - JFCS of Southern New Jersey To Our Positive Success (TOPS) Day Habilitation Program.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, about 1 in 9 people ages 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s.

We know the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of this disease, as well as providing support for those who live with it. This is why we’re offering a Support Group with Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, Jewish Family and Children's Service - JFCS of Southern New Jersey, and Lions Gate, presented by Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter on the 3rd Monday of every month.

Join us for our next meeting on Monday, August 19.

Our Alzheimer’s Camden County Symposium at the Katz JCC had a big turnout!

Caregivers who attended heard from presenters on understanding and responding to dementia-related behavior, the role of pet therapy, diagnostic testing, the value of respite care, and available resources for home and adult day care.

Here at Aleph, providing resources and programming to our older adult population and overall community is a top priority, and we are so glad we were able to help guide the many people who attended this event. Thank you to those who came.
