I do not believe in airing our dirty laundry, but as you can read at the bottom of this email, I was clearly threatened with an attempt to ruin my business . Therefore I feel that I have no choice but to put this on myself so that there is no misunderstanding what was said and what was offered to fix the situation. Here is that email and our response so that you can clearly see we did offer solutions to the "problem".

Email to me at the Salon:

I am reaching out on behalf of my daughter since she seemed to get no where. As a business owner, I feel word of mouth is the best advertising and making the customer happy is top priority! She was in on Tues evening to get a spray tan before heading to Atlantic City this Friday evening to celebrate her 21st birthday with friends. She normally is very pale in color and wanted to look tan against her beautiful black dress she purchased. When she arrived for her spray tan, she left everything up to the staff to recommend what is a proper color against her natural color skin tone as that is your expertise. She expected to look like she had a natural tan which is what she was told. She came home looking like she fell into a mud pit! She was a super dark brown with uneven patches all over, her legs darker than arms, her face looked like she was thrown into a mud pit, the tops of her feet were a totally different color than her legs which should look great with her sandals she opted to wear. Her torso area looked almost like her natural skin color compared to the rest. I'm not certain what went wrong with this application but she was very unhappy and rightfully so. She returned on Thursday to pick up her necklace she had left behind and explained how unhappy she was. She was told they could fix it but would not give her a cash refund as that is how she paid because they did use product on her. She opted NOT to have it redone because she looked ridiculous the first time and leaving tomorrow she didn't want to look any worse than she already does. I'm sorry but this is not how you treat a customer. I would like to hope the owner or a manager can review this complaint ASAP and do whats right in this situation. Again, as a business owner, its about making the customer happy, she is not happy. I will give you until the end of business day today to e mail her back at above e mail address and make this right, otherwise I will turn to social media and any other resource on my side to make this right for her.

OUR RESPONSE:

I am responding to your mother's email which was sent on your behalf. As I stated, when you came in, as a way to make you happy I am willing to fix all of the issues that you felt there were with your airbrush tan. Or you could be touched up by the Owner at around 815 PM tonight, Thursday. To touch on a few points from your mother's email; we spoke on Tuesday, when you were in the Salon, about how you did look a little "dirty" directly after the airbrush, as many people do, including myself, as a result of some spray that will be washed away once you showered 8 hours later. I do understand, that you were concerned about being "too dark" and then I told you of my concern, that if you were too pale, you would have wasted your money because sprays fade, especially when your event is four days away.
The other side of too dark is too light and I wanted to ensure that your tan would last those four days until your event. Your legs are darker, but for the last 5 and 1/2 years, about 92% of my clients, ask, when wearing a black dress, ask for the legs to be darker, and then the rest of you was sprayed evenly.

Your face was airbrushed darker due to the fact, as I stated Tuesday, the face fades 2 times quicker than the body and I wanted to ensure your face was not paler than your body for your event, 4 days after your spray. The solution I gave to help if you felt you were too dark was the more you shower the quicker the airbrush would wear down BUT only after trying on your dress to see how it would look with your tan. When you came into the salon to get your necklace, your complaint was that you felt you were orange, however, your mother stated that the issue was you were too dark brown and uneven, so I guess I am confused as to which one it is. I further found it hard to assess the complaints as you scrubbed the solution from your face completely and I was unable to see the issue based on the photographs you showed me. I stand by my offer to fix your airbrush.

As I sit here listening to the thunder I look out at see this blizzard that should have happened a month ago, I realize that we will not be open the rest of Wednesday. See tou tomorrow @ 10 am.
