"You can do anything here – the only prerequisite is that it makes you happy." These wise words are from the talented Bob Ross, the same man who sparked America's interest in the hobby of painting on TV and who would have celebrated a birthday today.
Residents at Holiday Chateau McKinney celebrated his life with a painting party inspired by his naturalistic subject matter.
We think all the paintings look great, and as Bob said, "Talent is a pursued interest. Anything you're willing to practice, you can do.”
Happy birthday to Bob Ross! 🎨
When the choir at Holiday Monarch Estates sings together, their beautiful voices can be heard throughout the building. "We have so much fun that we often share a laugh when we sing," says Engage Life Coordinator Donna. "'Bushel and a Peck,' and 'Buffalo Gal' are two of our favorites, but 'God Bless America' is never left out."
"We look forward to it each week," says resident Liz. "We're not surprised to look around a corner and see someone coming down the hall to join us doing a little jig."

"The City of Hope Women of Purpose Award was created to honor women who have made a positive impact on the church," shares Lillie, a resident at Holiday Forsyth Court. Lillie is this year's esteemed recipient for her years of service and dedication to the church where she was a minister for 16 years.
"This is very exciting because when I became a minister there weren't too many women in that field," she adds. "The head of the Baptist Church was traditionally male. So I became not only the first woman minister, but also the first Black woman minister!"
Congratulations, Lillie! 🌹
We came together for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, marking these meaningful holidays with warmth and tradition. Our Rosh Hashanah programming celebrated hopes for a sweet new year and as we transitioned into Yom Kippur, the focus shifted to reflection.
These events were not only a chance to honor cherished traditions, but were also a wonderful reminder of the strong sense of community we share. Thank you to everyone who helped make these holidays truly special.
