Last Friday, our Community Liaison, Lauren Merrill, was able to attend the grand opening of MARS ATP in Allentown, PA. It was such a lively event and a great opportunity to connect with fellow marketers. Thank you to Mars!

Our Director of Business Development exhibited at the NAMI event at Friends Hospital! This was a great day to spend time with our referral partners and an opportunity to learn about resources for the community.

Shantae Coppock is June’s Employee of the Month! Shantae Coppock has been part of the Keystone Center’s weekend Freedom Group crew for nearly two years. Shantae is consistently looked to as a positive resource from the patients, and especially the patients who struggle with ambivalence throughout the weekend. She is known for holding firm, appropriate boundaries in a compassionate way and maintains an
upbeat personality and positive demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Shantae has a focus on outcomes and assisting with making this a better experience for the patients during their stay. Cheers to you, Shantae!

Yesterday, David Pellack PhD, LPC, CSAT, Director of KeyStone Center ECU, presented a training on treating s*x addiction to Delaware County Probation. Join us 1 p.m. on July 3 at Key Recovery for the next training in our series where the topic will be Gambling Treatment.

We hosted our annual staff barbecue, catered by ZAC'S food truck! A huge thank you to our staff for your continued hard work and dedication to our patients.

We had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of Cedar Creek, STR Behavioral Health’s primary mental health residential facility. Thank you to STR for such a fun event! It was great to connect with so many like-minded individuals.

National Women's Health Month is a time to encourage women and girls to take control of their health. This awareness is all about empowering women, cultivating health, celebrating voices, wellness, and resilience.

We were able to attend the Wounded Warrior Project hosted by Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital. Brooke Glen created “coins for a cause” to give back to those who served our country, and to bring awareness to Mental Health Awareness Month. A check was presented to the amazing speaker, Tonya Oxendine, from the Wounded Warrior Project.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

We got the opportunity to attend the Overdose Awareness Walk this year to remember those lost to addiction and to raise awareness about the opioid epidemic. Together, we can make a difference!

Last week, we celebrated by hosting an ice cream and waffles event for staff, which was hosted by leadership. Thank you to staff for going above and beyond every day to provide compassionate, thoughtful patient care!

Key Recovery received additional training on Medication Assisted Treatment from Carly Turk and Tina Formica. We are looking to add additional avenues of MAT, and appreciate additional training to help fine-tune our skills.

The new Hanover Hill Behavioral Health is expected to open in fall 2025. Yesterday, Matt Peterson, Executive Vice President and President Behavioral Health Division, spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony. The new joint-venture facility will be located on Macada Road in Hanover Township, across from the Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Muhlenberg campus.

Lauren Meehan is May’s Employee of the Month! Lauren is a dedicated and experienced CRS, and person in long-term recovery. Lauren’s strong recovery-based relationships were beneficial for our patients during her tenor as an Aftercare Counselor, and she was recently promoted to Alumni Coordinator where she has hit the ground running. Lauren meets with discharging patients to touch base on their treatment experience, and what plans are next for them.

In this brief period, Lauren has elevated our Motivational Mondays, facilitates family support groups, attended several community events with several more scheduled including a Speaker Jam & Overdose Awareness Walk. Lauren maintains a positive demeanor and outlook while exemplifying service excellence when collaborating with the patients and staff. Way to go, Lauren!

Key Recovery had an amazing time hosting Spring Fling! Our goal for our patients is to show how much fun you can have at sober events. Patients and staff enjoyed food, springtime craft making, and games.

We attended a local community resource fair in Ridley this weekend, hosted by a Different Way. We always enjoy the opportunity to collaborate with our community partners, as well as learn new information that we can take back to our facility.

- Put off mowing your lawn for a week or two.
- Check the tag on clothes and bedding before you buy. Choose organic cotton and avoid plastic-based threads like acrylic, nylon and polyester. Washing clothes in cold water also preserves the planet.
- Need a new coat? Buy one made from recycled plastic bottles.
- Old clothes and blankets are still useful. Give them another life by turning them into home insulation.
