Hey Lushies!
Diwali is a 5-day festival of lights celebrated within India and in Hindu, Sikh, Jain, and Buddhist communities worldwide. Celebrated during the New Moon in the month of Kartik from the Hindu Calendar, Diwali’s actual date changes every year, with 2021 being celebrated from November 2nd to the 6th. Symbolizing the spiritual victory of light over darkness and good over evil, Diwali is related to Lakshmi (A goddess of wealth, fortune, power, beauty and prosperity), Ganesha (The Elephant Headed Diety who is the Remover of Obstacles and bringer of good luck, as well as the character Rama, an avatar of Vishnu and King of the mythical city of Ayodiah from the Hindu Epic, the Ramayana. The Rangoli is a mandala, or traditional piece artwork, that is made at the thresholds of households which celebrate the holiday, and is the inspiration for our newest bath bomb, Rangoli Dreams. The warm scent of cardamom and rose relax and revivify you while the popping candy is reminiscent of the fireworks used in celebration!
