Today marks an incredible milestone for one special Labradoodle, our brave friend Loki, who has just completed his last chemotherapy session with us at Broadmoor East! 😊🎉

Six months ago, our hearts were heavy when Loki was diagnosed with lymphoma. But this sweet boy showed us what it means to be truly resilient. For 20 weeks, he courageously faced each treatment, teaching us all about bravery and the power of a fighting spirit. 💪🐶

Today, we are thrilled to announce that Loki has finished his chemo and is going home with a clean bill of health, just in time for the holiday season!

Meet Charles, a resilient 5-month-old puppy who has been battling Parvovirus since the 1st of November. Charles is a brave little girl who was brought in as an emergency case, suffering from this highly contagious and potentially fatal disease.

Despite the odds, Charles has shown us what true bravery looks like. With aggressive treatment and lots of love from our dedicated team here at Broadmoor East Veterinary Clinic, we're thrilled to announce that she has made a drastic improvement!

Today is a special day because Charles gets to go home! It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

Canine Parvovirus, commonly known as Parvo, is a highly infectious disease that can be severe and even fatal in dogs. It causes symptoms like lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, vomiting, and severe, often bloody, diarrhea. It's especially dangerous for puppies or older dogs because it can rapidly lead to dehydration and damage the intestines.

Parvo is spread through direct contact with an infected dog, or by indirect contact with a contaminated environment or objects. The virus is incredibly resilient and can survive in indoor environments for at least two months and outdoors for years. But there's hope! Parvo is preventable with regular vaccinations, which are extremely effective in protecting your furry friend from this dangerous disease.

Join us in celebrating Charles' victory over Parvo and remember, keeping your pet's vaccinations up-to-date is the best way to protect them. 💕🏡

Cleo, her beloved cat, was critically ill with a GI obstruction. It was an emergency and we were the only clinic available to help. Cheyenne Police K9 Team Wins Two Major Awards During Annual Certification

K9 teams from across the state gathered in Gillette, Wyoming last week to complete their annual certification through the Wyoming Police Service Dog Association. Four of the 17 certifying teams were from the Cheyenne Police Department.

Throughout the week, training was conducted in narcotics detection, patrol, evidence location, and tracking skills. The teams were evaluated, on and off leash, in different scenarios and high intensity environments they might encounter performing their everyday tasks. The K9s were also tested on protecting their handler from an unexpected attack.

Awards were presented to the top performers at the end of the certification. CPD K9 Pavel and his handler Officer Pat Johnston earned two major awards:

⭐️Top Scoring Overall K9 Team
⭐️Top Scoring Narcotics K9 Team

Even though the annual certification is complete, K9s and handlers train all year long in order to maintain their skills.

“Our K9 handlers and their partners are a vital part of our department,” said Chief Mark Francisco. “We are very proud to be recognized as having one of the best teams in the state. This unit works tirelessly to maintain their skills for the safety of our community and our officers.”

Noise anxiety is very real for our four-legged friends and we’ve gotten a TON of calls recently about this topic, with all of the rain and thunderstorms we’ve been having in Cheyenne. This is Rocky, a 1 year old Argentine Black & White Tegu we recently treated in our clinic.

These guys can grow up to 5 feet long & live for about 15-20 years. They are known to develop a great bond with their owners! Tegu’s are considered a more gentle lizard & can understand emotions more than any other lizard.

Anybody recognize this sweet baby? He was brought in to our clinic for a microchip scan by a Good Samaritan who found him wandering on Pershing. He is not injured and is safe and warm here in our facility. Unfortunately, he does not have a microchip or a collar, so we are asking for your help finding his owner. Meet Colleen, she has been grooming pets here at Broadmoor Boarding & Grooming for 24 years! Colleen has her Animal Science Certification along with Animal Care and Handling, Fear Free Grooming as well as Skin & Coat Care Certifications. She is about to achieve Master Groomer from the National Dog Groomers Association. We are so grateful for her experience and expertise.
Meet Logan, Logan has been in the Boarding & Grooming world for four years now. She has a huge love for dogs and it has been her dream to be a dog groomer. Our Master Groomer Colleen has taken Logan under her wing and has trained her to be an excellent groomer.
We are so grateful to have both these ladies on our team! Thank you today and every day for making our fur babies spa day a happy day! Thank you for making our stinky dogs smell and look oh so good! Thank you for being patient when our stinky dogs are bad! Thank you for staring down these ferocious little beasts day after day and still coming back!
