Thankful Thursday Testimonials!

Thank you to International Subaru Orland Park and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for bringing warmth to our patients this morning with the annual Subaru Loves to Care Blankets initiative. Our patients receiving infusion were so happy to receive these warm blankets that turn into pillows!

This morning, Ms. Barbara Barnings, completed her treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma under the care of Dr. Amar Hamad. Ms. Barnings rang the victory bell loud and proud with her best friend, Ms. Mary Hauwiller, of 80 years standing by her side. Yes, 80 years! What a beautiful friendship to have and cherish.

We are grateful for all the caregivers including family and friends, that support our patients throughout their cancer journey.

It's Men's Health Week!

Dr. Abdullah Malas, Oncologist at Affiliated Oncologists will be a physician expert panelist at an upcoming Men's Health Seminar on Thursday, June 26th, 6-9 PM at Allure Wellness Center in Tinley Park. This will be a relaxed environment for men to be able to ask questions to an all-male expert panel of physicians and practitioners related to men's health.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day at the annual The Cancer Support Center Spring Walk of Hope.

It was also an honor supporting their annual walk this Sunday with cancer survivors and supporters.

This week we continue to appreciate all of our nurses! Month of May is Oncology Nursing Month as well.

Affiliated Oncologists thanks all our nurses for "supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, honoring the taken and never, ever giving up hope." We are very grateful for each one of you for the care, joy, and hope you bring to our patients each day.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day and we want to emphasize the importance of regular women's health exams. The most common symptoms of ovarian cancer include bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, feeling full quickly, and urinary urgency.
