This is exciting. Time to go shopping 😉.
Olivia has been taking sewing classes with me since she was 10 years old. She’s now 18 and decided to design and make her own prom dress! I’m so proud of her. She’s beautiful, intelligent and talented!
The dress is green stretch satin overlayed with seed and bugle beads. Olivia worked tirelessly sewing 3 separate layers to create this look plus 2 test garments. Simply stunning 🤩.
Schedule preview will be posted on April 4. Registration begins April 15!
Delayed but getting ready 🥰.

Sewing & Design School for Kids
Cherice Taylor of Making It SewFun has been teaching children how-to sew for over 15 years. Under her direction, students learn how to become confident sewing machine operators, work with sewing tools, and read pattern instructions in a positive and encouraging environment. A key feature of her student’s success are small class sizes of just 5 students per class which ensure individual attention.
Making It SewFun exclusively uses the Kids Can Sew® & Fashion Design curriculum that’s nationally and internationally acclaimed featuring basic sewing patterns with easy-to-read instructions designed specifically for kids. Students learn progressively as they complete projects. Additional craft projects are introduced throughout the year to expand students knowledge and fun. More challenging projects and store-bought commercial sewing patterns are introduced as student’s skills advance.
Students also master construction techniques by creating samples of various machine and hand-sewn stitches; fiber identification cards, and by applying design concepts to projects. At the end of the programming year, students have an opportunity to showcase their work at Making It SewFun’s Annual Student Appreciation Fashion Show.
