It's Fun Fact Friday! Shaun's third album, Under Wraps, was released in stores in the summer of 1978. On the cover, Shaun is wearing a tie with a Japanese symbol at the top of it. This same symbol is found on the album sleeve. We did some sleuthing, and to the best of Mr. Google's knowledge this symbol could translate to harmony, peace, love, luck and/or fortune!

It's Fun Fact Friday! This week we're spotlighting Brian Wilson. Brian is best known for being a founding member of the Beach Boys. Their music is the soundtrack of summer.
It's well known that Brian often collaborated with other song writers and wrote songs that were recorded by other artists. David and Shaun both recorded songs that were co-written by Brian Wilson! David--Cruise to Harlem and Shaun--It's Like Heaven. How cool is that!

It’s Turntable Tuesday! Summer is heating up--we are continuing our summer concert series-- and this week we’re droppin’ the needle and spinnin’ It’s Like Heaven. What better song to spotlight in the summer than one that was co-written by Brian Wilson (Beach Boys)! Shaun released this song in 1978 on Under Wraps, his third studio album. The version that you’re listening to now was recorded live at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA on December 16, 2021, during Shaun’s Magic Of A Midnight Sky tour! Ok everybody, let’s hear ya sing it loud….”It’s like heaven…..it’s like heaven…..” Audio and pictures are courtesy of Trina Minnich.
It’s Top 10 Thursday! This week we are highlighting our Johnny Ray Miller interview. Johnny joined us to talk about the book that he co-authored with Ryan Cassidy, James Cagney Was My Babysitter, and his book, When We’re Singin’. There was so much to learn from Johnny about both books. And the comical anecdotes will have you in stiches. This episode was a blast! LISTEN NOW here:

It’s Turntable Tuesday! We are still rockin’ our summer concert series. This week we’re dropping the needle and spinning I Write the Songs--recorded live at Royal Albert Hall by David Cassidy!
In the intro of this track, you’ll hear David explaining how this song was recorded by thousands of artists. It was written in 1975 by Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys. It was originally recorded that same year by Captain & Tennille for their Love Will Keep Us Together album. BUT the first release of I Write the Songs, as a single, came from David!! He recorded it in 1975 for his solo album, the Higher They Climb, and his version climbed to number 11 on the UK Singles Chart in August! Barry Manilow’s version may have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976; but it’s David’s version that really does “make the young girls cry”. Make sure to sing along, loudly, to this fantastic version of I Write the Songs!
Woohoo! You ladies rock! 🤣 Debbie Jones, Elizabeth Yost, Melodee Jedynak, Cathy Meyers, you've made it onto my weekly engagement list! Thanks for your continued support ❤️

It's Fun Fact Friday! Today, as we start the Fourth of July weekend, we thought it would be fun to talk about some of our nation's most popular patriotic songs and the man who composed them, and the man who played the man who composed them! You’re a Grand Old Flag, Yankee Doodle Boy, and Over There, songs that you’ll surely hear during most July 4th fireworks displays, were all composed by George M. Cohan! James Cagney portrayed Mr. Cohan in the 1942 biographical film, Yankee Doodle Dandy, the role which won him the Best Actor Academy Award. These George M. Cohan songs continue to endure mostly because of Mr. Cagney and his role in Yankee Doodle Dandy! We hope that you enjoy celebrating our nation's independence. Have a very happy and safe 4th of July weekend!
