🌳🌴🌲Plant Alert!🌳🌴🌲
This Friday 4/22, the Chicago Neighborhood Planting Project is distributing native fruit and nut tree seedlings on from 5pm-8pm @ 2712 W Division, Chicago!

We all deserve vibrant ecosystems and local sources of healthy food. We'd love to see more trees everywhere, and especially in places under-represented in Chicago's current canopy.

Today, Cook County Judge Erica L. Reddick granted Certificates of Innocence for five victims of former CPD Sgt. Ronald Watts: George Almond, Darnell Howard, Darnell Harris, Maurice Harris, and Willie Roberson.

A Certificate of Innocence is a powerful form of post-conviction relief that certifies that the petitioner was innocent of all offenses for which they were incarcerated, formally acknowledges their wrongful conviction, and allows them to seek financial restitution from the state.

Today’s ruling brings the total number of exonerated victims of CPD Sgt. Ronald Watts to 115. However, there are still 83 Watts victims waiting for justice. Photo by Teddy Gonzales.
