Zaneta Marcinik, Senator
Zaneta was a CMAA UIC President in 2020-2021. She is still helping the new board to get familiar with responsibilities and tasks. She will be graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering in December 2021. She hopes to continue her education at UIC returning for Master Degree in Construction Engineering and Management. She was an intern for CDOT Bikeways Program. She hopes to learn more about construction and wants to help students make connections with professionals through CMAA UIC.

“I’m a graduate student pursuing my masters in Construction Management. I love this field as it allows me to learn more on field and use my technical skills in office. I would love to connect with more people through this committee and learn more about the construction industry”

Akshat Devani , Senator
“I am a graduate student at UIC pursuing Construction Management degree. I am a team player experienced in maintaining relationships with strong communication and time management skills, and deeply interested in project management, and preconstruction activity . In Fall 2021 I became Senator chair in CMAA UIC.”

Matthew Gasienica, Senator
“I am senior and amstudying civil engineering. I’m interested in joining the construction industry upon graduation. I’d like to learn more about the industry while at school.
I hope to establish a more specific concentration that I want to follow within the field of civil engineering.
I have started to become interested in woodworking as a hobby in my spare time”.

“I'm a Ph.D. candidate majoring in Construction Management under supervision of Dr. Ataei. I chose Construction Management because it puts me not only in a professional office environment but also out in the construction field.”

“ I am a first year graduate student in the Construction Engineering and Management Program. Upon graduating I hope to start my career in project management with a focus in Construction Engineering. I believe that this field is the perfect mix of being in the office and being on the site. I hope to grow in my knowledge of construction engineering, leadership, and management.”

Chenzio Winata, Vice President
“I am in my final year at UIC studying civil engineering. The reason I want to be involved in the CM organization is to learn more about the industry. I also have an interest in transportation engineering. My mission in this organization is to be active and proactive find connections and be friends with everyone” - says .w_

Gabriela Gonzales, President “Gabriela has over 7 years of experience in Civil Engineering Project Management with a strong understanding in project procedures, focus on logistics quality control, real state and technical specifications following a rigorous operational plan. Effective communication skills with technical procedures and processes to non-technical people. She has the ability to delegate and prioritize functions using schedules, project planning, team organization and customer service.

Aaron Witt from BuildWitt built a construction agency at the age of 25.
Over the past three years, Aaron has created a company called BuildWitt, which wields industry influence with a small army of graphic designers, programmers, photographers, videographers, video editors, copywriters and brand managers.
While Aaron’s accomplishments sound like a lot for a 26-year-old, he says this is just the beginning.
His vision is to build a mega media network for the dirt world.

Congratulations Chicago!

Transforming the Chicago skyline with 400 Lake Shore Drive.

Located where Lake Michigan meets the Chicago River, the new urban development will see 2 towers that offer spectacular views of the lakefront, river and cityscape.

Both buildings will be constructed of glass and stone, with a cascading silhouette that is reminiscent of a waterfall.

Adjacent to the towers, an extended Riverwalk will bridge the gap between downtown and the lakefront.
