With nearly a hundred attendees registered, our goal of fostering a deeper understanding of our mission and unwavering dedication to honoring and preserving history continues.

Meet Charles R. Smith Jr., author of the new children's book "Major Taylor: World Cycling Champion," on a free Zoom visit at 7 p.m. EST Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024. The virtual visit, open to all, is presented by the Major Taylor Association and Candlewick Press in conjunction with book giveaways by the Associated Clubs in cities from coast to coast, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York!

MAJOR history has been made with the help of the honorable Congressman Jonathan Jackson - IL-01. Beyond realizing a transformative trail that breathes new life into Bronzeville, our mission extends to highlighting the trailblazing story of a true American Hero, Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor. With the help of Congressman Jackson, who recently introduced a bill to award Marshall Major Taylor a congressional posthumous medal, we are one step closer to commemorating the enduring life and legacy that continues to inspire countless individuals worldwide.

The Bronzeville Trail Task Force is working with Congressman Jonathan Jackson, to urge Congress to award the Congressional Gold Medal, the country's highest civilian honor, to Major Taylor. Congressman Jackson was interviewed today at Operation PUSH about the effort. The interview is part of the PBS documentary being produced about the life and times of this amazing athlete and trailblazer. Keep tuned to this space for more updates. (Amandilo Cuzan)
