📍Where are you from?
I am from a small town called Rayland, Ohio… But I really consider myself a Chicagoan since moving here almost 10 years ago.

🩺 What made you want to become a pediatrician?
I really love the spark and joy kids bring- whether they’re sick or healthy. It’s so fun to work with them as they grow up.
I’ve found my approach as a pediatrician to be incredibly different since becoming a parent myself, and love getting to see young parents grow into their new roles.

💦You’re also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, which is unique for a doctor. What compelled you to get this certification?
I felt that by becoming an pediatrician and IBCLC, I could offer a unique and comprehensive approach to parents as they navigate the journey of feeding their child.

🎡What are your favorite things to do when you’re not seeing patients?
I love to spend time with my husband, two sons, and my shih-tzu Lola. Most weekends we are either at the zoo, a Chicago museum, seeing a movie, or going on an impromptu vacation, which often ends up being to Disneyland.

🍕What's your go-to pizza order, toppings and all?
100% Pequod’s pan pizza with cheese and green peppers.
Or satisfying my inner 90s kid with a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.

OH BABIES! 🐣🐣 We had a baby shower 🥳 for Dr. Priya, who is expecting twins in the fall. We can’t wait to meet these little ones! 💙💙

BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
Some tips and tricks for keeping your kiddos healthy when temps hover at (or below!) freezing 🥶

✅ Humidity💨 Keep humidifiers running in bedrooms all day (don’t forget to close the door!) so that the air is nice and moist at bedtime.

✅ Citrus 🍊 Drink OJ, eat grapefruit, put lemon on everything. Citrus fruits are packed with Vitamin C which is critical to immune function!

✅ Steam Showers🚿 Feeling stuffed up? Great excuse for a lengthy steam shower – turn the temp up as hot as you can stand it to loosen things up :)

✅ Moisturize🧴Eczema and psoriasis are exacerbated by dry air. Keep hand lotion by the side of the sink, and moisturize your kiddos before bed AND before getting dressed for school.

✅ Change Clothes👖After coming home from school, sports, or birthday parties – have your little one change clothes. Keep an extra set at the door so that they don’t trek germs in the house (especially if you have a baby or grandparent living with you)!

✅ Layer up🧣 Instead of cranking the heat when temps sink, consider wearing another layer instead – your delicate mucus membranes will thank you.

We celebrated Pediatric Nurses Week with a surprise breakfast for our stellar nurses, who dedicate themselves to providing excellence in nursing care of children and their families.

✨Pediatric Nurses Week is from October 3rd - 7th ✨

Bivalent (original Covid + Omicron strain) Booster doses are available at all three WP offices!

Patients 12 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Bivalent (original strain + Omicron) Vaccine, if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination (or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine).
