TOM SAWYER - A Tribute To RUSH

Hi everyone, Tony here... I have a couple of updates for you all about the future Tom Sawyer.
First, is that Brent and Scott will soon be looking for a person to fill the role of Geddy and they will be holding auditions starting in the new year with the overall goal of being ready to play out with the new guy hopefully by April/May time frame. I will be helping them with recruiting and anything else they need to make this transition. Brent and Scott will then carry on the Tom Sawyer name for as long as they want to, with my support whenever they need it. Stay tuned for an announcement by Brent some time in the near future on this page for more details.
Second, there is a Tom Sawyer Reunion show now being planned for March 30th at Sundance Saloon featuring Brent, myself, and Wolfie back on drums as a final goodbye for us two courtesy of Bobby Carlsen. This show will also feature Physical Graffiti, A Tribute to Led Zeppelin co-headlining the show with us. I'd like to thank Bobby for his ideas and support in setting this up and also to thank all of the people that have called for a last show before I retire from the band. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone out at Sundance on March 30th to jam some old school RUSH one last time ! It will be fun !!

Hello everyone... After forming and leading Tom Sawyer for the last 6 years I am now announcing my retirement from the band. It has been 6 great years of fun and challenges and I am proud of being able to provide a quality RUSH tribute band for the Chicagoland RUSH community to enjoy. There are definitely plans in the works to keep the band going in 2024 and beyond and I will still be around for a while to help make the transition happen so please stay tuned for more details as they come up. For now, over the next few weeks I am going to be reposting all of the videos we have had up over the years as a tribute to our growth and to share again memories of fun times we have had playing for you all. Finally, I would just like to say thank you to everyone who helped make this band happen including all of the incredible musicians, patient family members, loyal promoters and club owners, and most of all to all of the awesome Chicagoland RUSH fans for coming out to the shows and supporting the band. We are very honored to have been chosen to headline the very first CANADIANA FEST and we are so looking forward to representing not only the greatest band ever from Canada, but one of the greatest bands in rock history - RUSH !! I would like to say thanks to all the guys that have been a part of Tom Sawyer over the last 6 years that helped get us to this point and who were an important part of the band's history . Especially to my good friend Wolfgang Paul. A shout out also goes to Rolly Reinhart on guitar, and to the inspiration for starting this band - Mike Huber on drums. A huge thanks goes out to all the promoters and club owners who gave us a shot and most of all to all the people who came out to see us over the years. We appreciate you !! - Tony

We had a great time last night at Sundance !! We also had a great time staying and watching Rok Brigade for their entire set - they rock !! Big thanks to Bobby and Angie for hosting the party, the guys in Rok Brigade for their awesome set, and my guys in Tom Sawyer for the great jams !! A huge shout out to Brent Johnson for pulling double duty and subbing on 2nd lead guitar for Rok Brigade. He did an amazing job shredding guitar and we couldn't be prouder of him !
Our next show will be on Oct. 7th in Kalamazoo, Mi. for the 1st ever CANADIANA FEST. We are truly honored and extremely excited to be headlining this great event !!
This show will feature our "AN EVENING OF RUSH", 3 hour concert experience, just like RUSH put on from 1996-2015. We are stoked to be able to play songs from the entire catalog for this show !
Lastly and most important... thank you all so much for coming out and supporting the band. We couldn't do this without you !!

Tom Sawyer is really excited to be headlining the very first CANADIANA FEST in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Oct. 7th !! We are extremely honored to have been selected from among all the great Rush tribute bands out there to pay tribute to 3 of Canada's finest musicians and to present some of the very best Canadian music to have ever been written, recorded, and exported to the rest of the world and which has been enjoyed and truly loved for all these years by millions of fans. Hello everyone, unfortunately the show tonight was cancelled by the venue due to the 100% chance of thunderstorms passing through the area right around the same time as the bands would be onstage. We agree with and are grateful for this decision. We will see you all again soon though, maybe at Tribute Island next week !! Take care and stay safe !
