We will be extremely short staffed this week due to unforeseen illnesses within our staff.
Due to us working with less than half of our normal staff, we ask our clients to be very patient with us as we do our best to remain open for services.
Appointments and communication may be delayed. We apologize for this inconvenience and understand that it is a stress on our clients. We hope everyone understands that we will be doing the best to our abilities during this time.
Greta did great for her suture removal.

The veterinary community does not have much information on this pathogen at this time.
Here are some tips to keep your pet safe.

Veterinary Specialty Center
Our technician, Tina, adopted Feta, a senior pit-mix, from Chicago Animal Care and Control about one year ago with the intention of giving her a comfortable and happy place to live out her retirement. After a long battle with cancer, we unfortunately said our final goodbye in October.
In honor of Feta, will be helping our technician make a holiday donation to CACC. Our hearts are broken, but we know she was put in our lives for a reason; to help other dogs just like her. Per CACC volunteer staff, these are the items they need: variety of dog treats (Pupperonis, jerky treats, Purina Busy Bones, rawhide-free chew treats), cozy blankets, durable chew toys, leashes, collars, etc.
These dogs have been failed by humans; they have been over-bred, abandoned, often times mistreated, and terribly misunderstood. They deserve some extra love this holiday season❤️ If you are interested, there is a drop-off box at .
Additionally, there is a GoFundMe for those of you that would prefer a digital donation (https://gofund.me/fbd07fb4) - all funds will be used to purchase the supplies listed above. The link will be posted in the MAC bio for the duration of the holiday season.
Donations/supplies for the kittens/cats of CACC (treats, blankets, etc.) are also welcome!
“Thank you everyone - this means so much to me!” -Tina

Thank you to our wonderful support staff.
It is no secret that there has been an enormous stress put on the veterinary community the past few years. All veterinary clinics, including Mayfair, have been faced with hostility when the demand is higher than our capacity is able to support. Unfortunately in this field, we come to work each day not knowing what will be put in front of us. Our entire staff has done their absolute best to keep up with the demand and we couldn’t be more grateful for their hard work.
This week, be sure to show some kindness to a veterinary tech that you know. We thank them for being the backbone of our clinic. We would not be here without them!

🎃👻🍂🐱🐶
It’s going to be HOT today and tomorrow.
Please leave your animals home today in a climate controlled place.
While ALL dogs have a hard time regulating their temperature in high heat, brachycephalic dogs like pugs, bostons, and frenchies, are most at risk of heat stroke. In extreme heat, all dogs are at risk.
You have your vet’s permission to skip the walk today. If you do walk, walk in the early morning or evening when it is not too hot.

Before and After
Don’t forget that lilies are toxic to cats and can cause kidney failure. Do not bring lilies into your home if you are a cat owner. If you suspect your cat has eaten lilies, bring them to an ER immediately. Do not wait until Monday.
Happy Easter and stay safe!
One of the funniest things ever sent to us 😂😂😂
This image was made by the OWNER of Jax, not our team. Jax was very stressed for his appointment but he did fine. We’ll work with him to reduce the stress of his visits!

The MAC Pack had a great time celebrating at our annual holiday dinner a few weeks back!
We’re also ecstatic to be celebrating the RETURN of two of our veterinarians: Dr. Katie (left) who worked at Mayfair from 1999-2006 before moving to London as well as Dr. Costa (right) who worked at Mayfair as a new-graduate from 1987-1991.
Happy Thanksgiving!
A friendly reminder that “holiday pancreatitis” is a real disease. Do not feed your pets anything they are not used to eating as they can become very ill from it. Also, be extra cautious about turkey bones in the garbage as they can lead to your pet needing emergency surgery!
This week is National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week. Please help us in thanking our wonderful support staff for all their hard work day in and day out! We couldn’t do it without them!
Hangin out.

Dr Paul recently had Bogdan, a Ukrainian soldier, reach out to him via his non-profit, MediK9USA NFP, INC. He was requesting to purchase trauma supplies for his military K9, Dagi. Mikhov currently serves in the Ukrainian Special Forces of the State of Security.
He is currently deployed in the Zaporozhye region, a Ukrainian-occupied territory in Southern Ukraine. The region has one of the nuclear power plants and sits on the border of the Russian-occupied territories of Southern Ukraine.
Dagi was recently transported back to Kyiv as the noise and danger from the frequent artillery shots in Zaporozhye have made it impossible to keep his K9 there.
We are sending Bogdan a care-package of trauma supplies and trauma kits donated by Mayfair Animal Clinic PC. We will also be providing him with any additional gear for his K9 that we can acquire, such as K9 ear protection, K9 goggles, protective K9 boots, harnesses, leashes, and collars, etc. Dr Paul has already reached out to several companies for donations, but fundraising will allow us to purchase more gear that wouldn't otherwise be donated. We will also be sending him some morale items such as t-shirts, decals, and patches.
Supplies will be shipped to a secure area in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine. This is a precaution to make sure that the items make it into the hands of the Ukrainian fighters.
Please consider donating if you would like to contribute to his care-package.
