☀️ Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors in Chicago. But don’t forget about UV safety! Here are some essential tips to protect yourself from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays: 🕶️ Wear Sunglasses: Protect your eyes with sunglasses that block 100% of UVA and UVB rays. 🧴 Use Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30. Reapply every two hours, and after swimming or sweating. 👒 Wear a Hat: A wide hat can protect your face, ears, and neck from the sun. 🌳 Seek Shade: Avoid direct sun exposure between 10 AM and 4 PM when UV rays are strongest. Why is UV protection important? ➡️Prevents Skin Cancer: UV exposure is a major risk factor for most skin cancers. ➡️Prevents Premature Aging: UV rays can cause premature aging of the skin, leading to wrinkles and age spots. ➡️Protects Eyes: UV radiation increases the risk of cataracts and other eye conditions.
