Pumpkin, you’re cute. But we’re crushing on pepitas (tiny green pumpkin seeds) this fall. Pepitas have a delicate, nutty, subtly sweet flavor that makes for a beautiful, downright unctuous ice cream. Almost a kissing cousin to nougat-y pistachio and peanut butter ice creams (fans of our Pistachio Macaron, this is your fall flavor!).
In our Pumpkin Seed & Rye Cookie ice cream, we harness the power of pepitas two ways: toasted pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin seed butter. The oil provides silkiness, nuttiness, and toasty notes. While the butter gives the ice cream decadent texture and depth. To cut through the richness and ground the flavor, we made a rye cookie crumble — using a combo of pumpernickel and rye flours, because they have this wonderful robust flavor that holds its own in the super-aromatic cream. The way it softens, it’s like eating a hearty fall cookie with the ideal savory-salty-sweet balance.

Bay Leaf Cheesecake is our tribute to a humble little laurel with a rich culinary history. Before vanilla was widely available, cooks reached for bay leaves to give desserts, especially cream-based ones, brightness and depth of flavor. When steeped in our lush, almost tangy cream cheese ice cream, bay leaves add refreshing and herbaceous depth — with notes of eucalyptus, pine, and thyme. Plus a classic vanilla-like familiarity that’s perfect with our textured graham cracker swirl.
Miso Butterscotch Brownie. A jaw-dropping balancing act of a flavor. Where sweet, salty, and savory tiptoe across the same delicious tightrope. We start with buttery caramel cream. Damn, Cognac with Gingerbread. You’re good. There is no greater combination in the world than a good, warm cognac, a dark caramel sauce, and a heavily spiced, blackstrap molasses ginger cake. Our cake recipe is a riff on Lynne Rossetto Kasper’s (Jeni’s favorite holiday cake), but made with extra ginger and molasses. This year we’re crumbling that exact recipe into our Courvoisier ice cream and swirling a slightly darker caramel into it. As you eat it, let the flavors melt and meld on your palate. The notes of cognac roll out of the ice cream one by one. The ginger, the caramel. If ever there was an ice cream tailor-made for winter, it’s this one. And we’re now scooping Cognac with Gingerbread in shops nationwide.

Jeni started making this flavor around the holidays nearly two decades ago—because there's just something about white chocolate and peppermint that screams holiday time. Made with pure peppermint oil for a fresh, palate-cooling mint flavor, and white chocolate specks for texture and an air of decadence. Just for fun, and because it reminds Jeni of her grandmother's peppermint cookies, we gave this normally all-white ice cream a pink swirl using all natural fruit and vegetable juices. White Chocolate Peppermint is now available in pints and scoops in shops nationwide.
