We are so grateful for your support over the last THREE years (that's right our 3rd birthday was January 5!)!! We have grown and changed so much since 2021, and now its time for a little update to our space! We will be making changes to our spray tan and body wax rooms to make it fresh, clean, and overall the luxury spaces you expect from us. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility while we are closed for all services in Lincoln Park during this time as the construction will be smelly, loud, and messy.

Wicker Park and West Loop spray tan studios will still be available for tans and staffed up to accommodate the lose of openings in Lincoln Park. Should you need brow, lash, or body waxing services we always recommend our friends .are.legendary the week we are closed.

Lincoln Park will re-open on Sunday January 28 and Rosie will be there to take care of you! A few other dates to note in January:

Ayana will be out of town 1/18-22 so if you need body waxing especially, coordinate to get in before her vacation or right after the studio being closed! We will have no body waxing appointments available January 17-28 so please plan ahead. Ronnie is out of town January 23-29. Dana and Rae are out of town January 24-27.

I recently upped my primary care game and made an appointment with Innovative’s new Vitality clinic. I have been going to Innovative primary care for a few years, but this is an upgrade if you’re looking to optimize your health and have true concierge care. I followed my nurse practitioner Meredith. 👩🏻‍⚕️

On my first in person appointment, they spent an hour with me going over my needs, running way more bloodwork than I’ve ever had before, got my flu shot, did an Inbody scan, and got fitted for a glucometer.

The Inbody scan is a machine that runs electrodes up your body and tells you everything from your muscle mass to your body fat percentage to even your visceral fat, which is the scariest and most dangerous fat you can have that’s around your organs. It was terrifying and helpful all in the same breath! And I know what you’re thinking…you don’t want to know this, but trust me, you DO want to know this!

I wore the glucometer for 10 days and shared the data with Innovative and Meredith, my nurse practitioner. As we know, understanding how our bodies react to insulin can be a key piece of the puzzle for our overall health and longevity.

We then spent another hour virtually at our next appointment going over all of my blood work very extensively, I was given the supplements that I needed to add to my routine to optimize my health, and we debriefed on all of my glucometer findings and data.

This is just the beginning but I will be changing some of my lifestyle habits to adjust to a healthier me. What that looks like? Eating more (A LOT more 😂) protein, being mindful of carbs and sugar, intermittent fasting, adding supplements, and focusing on Zone 2 cardio for my workouts.

In the spirit of anonymity all I’ll say is I know a few people who have already had their lives changed by this practice whether it’s hormone help, thyroid issues, or simply weight loss, they do it all and they’re saving lives! 🫶🏽

We are excited to announce the addition of another full-time esthetician to Beauty Commons! Ayana will be on the schedule a few days in August as soon as we get her up to speed with all our systems and products but full-time starting in September! Here’s a little info about her:

⚡️ I've been an esthetician since 2020. ⚡️ Ever since I was young I've had a love for makeup and skincare, as I got older I realized I could turn this passion into a career.
⚡️ I perform in the world of Chicago's nightlife as a burlesque showgirl, Morteisha Addams.
⚡️ My stage name comes from my love of all things goth, rock, and horror. Consider me your resident connoisseur on things of a spooky nature.
⚡️ In my downtime I’m spending time with either my wife and our three cats or our friends and family.

Ayana will be providing all services including threading, body waxing, spray tans, brow laminations, tinting, and facial waxing! We are so excited to welcome her!

Lots of growth, hard work, blood, sweat, tears, laughs, etc. have happened between these shoots. High high’s and low low’s (I try to be pretty open about these but let’s be real Instagram is mostly the high’s).

Today I’m taking the time to reflect on everything I’ve accomplished professionally.

I’m also acknowledging the things I’m so lucky to have…

I love my space. I love my clients. I love my team. I love everyone I share my space with. I love my family. I love my friends. I love getting to travel.

So thank you all for allowing me to share and I hope you take the time to reflect on what you feel proud of and grateful for this year 🤍

SpRAEtans are coming to your neighborhood in a few short weeks! Where’s my Bucktown, Wicker Park, Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Avondale people who wanna glow year round at?!

I’m so excited for our THIRD Chicago spray tan location to open up on Wednesday 11/30 inside the dark, new, dreamy Legendary Spa located at 1629 N Milwaukee Ave! You will die when you see how good their decor is! The tan room is still being pieced together so I will post pics when we get them but it will have the same amazing overspray booth, an epic mirror for selfies and much more!

I have to say I can’t take a lot of credit for this one as did A LOT of the behind the scenes work to make all this happen and I so appreciate her for her hard work, kindness, patience, and dedication to making this partnership work! I’ll tell you a little secret: it won’t be our last collab 😉😜 so stay tuned especially if you’re in the Chicago suburbs to see what we do next! 😝🤓

For now the December Wicker Park schedule will look like this:

I promise you by March of 2023 we’re hoping to have full-time coverage Tuesday-Saturday just in time for spring break, vacations, weddings and wedding prep!

Violet is the newest addition to the Rae Does Beauty (RDB) team! She’s available for booking now!

Violet will eventually be a jack of all trades, like me!, doing all the services we offer here, but for now she’s accepting new and existing clients for facial waxing and tinting. Body waxing will be added to the schedule slowly in the next coming weeks so stay tuned!

Violet’s schedule will be random for the first few months but she will be working evenings and weekends!!

I’m very excited to offer clients more options for availability and price points with my new additions! They are all very talented and eager to get started so don’t be shy and come check them out!!
