This time of year lends itself to reflection, so this we're sharing the first known photo of our company's origins. The founder of the Illinois Tamale Company (later shortened to Iltaco) is the man in the hat, Elisha Shabaz, who started the biz back in 1927 with... you guessed it: tamales. The littlest guy in this photo, his grandson, would go on to invent the Pizza Puff a few decades later. And the rest is history! But we always remember our humble beginnings and honor all the hard work that got us here. ❤
