Here at Spring Align we use double end threaded rod, an essential piece in your leaf spring suspension.
Threaded rod comes in many lengths and gauges. Threaded rod is used in many areas of many different industries, they can be found in not just light medium and heavy duty truck industry, but also in the automotive, trailer, agricultural, and maritime industries.
One of the biggest places threaded rod is used is in the suspension leaf spring business, in aspects that include repair, aftermarket, and original equipment. In this sector you will normally find threaded rod bent into ubolts, which are used to secure leaf spring packs to axles. Here at Spring Align we utilize a ubolt bending machine, that takes threaded rod and bends it into almost any size and shape.
We have 3 shops Southwest Spring which located in Chicago, Spring Align of Palatine which is located in Palatine, and Service Spring which is located in North Lake. All 3 of our shops stock threaded rod ranging in diameters from 3/8" to 1 1/4", and we bend them as needed while you wait. This process normally takes about 10 mins to make 4 ubolts. It is best to bring a sample for us to go off of, or you can give detailed measurements including rod diameter, leg length, the shape and length of the U.
