A dog named Bobby was surrendered to Miami Dade Animal Services, and soon melted the hearts of the volunteers and bonded with them.

Unfortunately, this didn’t mean Bobby was immediately adopted. In fact, after only two months at Miami Dade Animal Services, things were looking very grim for him. That’s because he was placed on the list no animal wants to be on: the code red list.

However, Bobby’s luck was about to change, thanks to social media. A photo of him wearing a Christmas sweater was posted online. But Bobby’s expression stood out in stark contrast to the festive sweater — he looked depressed and heartbroken...

A young boy at IPS School 88 was having a rough day when Sgt. Precious Cornner-Jones, Indiana State Police Capitol Police Section, stepped in to show him a moment of kindness.
This little fella was having a rough morning and fell out on the floor. I saw his mother step back and look. She stated this is how he is expressing himself lately. I decided to get on his level and talk to him. He started to cry so I wiped his tears and told him it will be ok. As an adult sometimes all we want is one person to stop, get on our level and maybe wipe our tears. These children are entitled to bad days just as us, so give them that moment to bring it together. Get on someone's level today and make them smile!! Spread PEACE and LOVE you might be that person that gives them hope!

This is a site I created to share what I have been through with others, and, hopefully, to create a community of people who are well informed, supportive of those with mental illlness, and where all can feel welcome. I realize that this is a very idealized way of looking at things. I know my goals are probably far from realistic, but this is what I hope to create(or, well, at least be a stepping stone in this path). Please try and remember that there are no identifying physical characteristics indicative of mental illness. This is something that reaches across lines, boundaries, beyond race, ethnicity, religion, political view, income-it can affect anyone. Also please try to never judge another as you never know what kind of battle they’re fighting inside.

Several majestic palm trees that usually flank the Refugio State Beach just north of Santa Barbara have come crashing down in recent days. Images show how the massive, 100-year-old trees were completely uprooted as they fell into the ocean.

Local officials say a combination of factors caused the trees to fall: several years of beach erosion, combined with powerful high tides and oversaturated soils from the back-to-back atmospheric rivers that brought heavy rains and high winds across the state.
