Tore off the old roof and all the infested wood. Rebuilt roof, properly sealed it and replaced the tiles after rebuilding the three infested sides. One fixed and one hinged window. Sink cleaned and operational.

Before and after setting the stone the previous owner never completed. Still needs wire brushing and a pressure wash.

The vanity is installed! Counter top and shower curb were measured yesterday and should go in next week.

The vanity was tricky. Trying to come close to the door pattern of the existing cabinets had us first checking with the manufacturer. The final cost would have been close to $1,600. Checked the web and came in with a product from the Wayfair site that is a very close match at HALF the price.

Still waiting on the shower tile. Bummed rhat it hasn't arrived yet. Shower doors will be delivered Friday. Still need to run out and grab a Panasonic Whisper Quiet fan kit to replace the existing ceiling fan.

The shower rough-in is complete. In addition to the foundation mortar, 40 mil pvc liner and half inch HardiBacker tile board, all seams are mesh taped and given a double later of Red Gard waterproofing. This is going to be one very tight shower. The shower pan tile goes in on Wednesday.

My progress before going downstairs to cut tile and my supervisor watching my every move (when his eyes are open).

Bathroom floor is coming along.

The cubby is roughed in for the shampoos and lotions. R30 bats of insulation seal off the gap open to the space between the ceiling and roof above as well as the interior wall. Additional R30 packed into the old window cutout and pink foam insulation to shield the cold from the bricks is on place. Tomorrow aluminum tape goes on to seal it all up. I've got the old electric line for the whirlpool bath to remove and the hole on the subfloor to reduce/repair.

Following that I pop one row of floor tile, clean off the old mastic, lay down a 2x3 curb and figure out a way to add a tiny bit more pitch toward the drain, something like maybe another quarter inch at the high end. After the pitch is installed, the drain is set in place, the subfloor is completely repaired and the rubber membrane is installed. A sheet of heavy half inch Hardybacker is laid on top, the pitch is verified and the weight and pressure of the wall Hardibacker pins the base in place.

Somewhere in there I need to shut off the building water line, cut out the old plumbing source lines for the original tub and shower, add the new mixing valve kit then close up the wall.

The old floor still needs to come off but it means shutting off and removing the radiator which has a stuck valve, removing the pedestal sink which has a cold water feed that doesn't completely shut off and lastly...pulling the toilet. Two days to put down the new floor tile and shower pan floor, then reinstall the toilet and think about a new smaller pedestal sink.

The shower wall tile isn't due to arrive until the second week of April. Then I break out the lasers and start the walls. With luck, the new bathroom design should be complete by the end of April.
