**SOS*** SIRA needs your help!!! Since September 1, we have taken in 19 dogs desperately needing rescue. Let's just say we've had a few surprises. Selene is one of them. She turned up in a shelter in Wisconsin looking like she'd been through a war. Our foster homes were full to the brim, but we just couldn't say no to that sad, scared face. One of our amazing volunteers stepped up to help. Selene has several medical issues needing immediate attention, but the biggest surprise was that we didn't just rescue 1 dog when we took her in, we rescued 8! That's right. She's very, very pregnant and due to deliver any time. She needs immediate attention to make sure her puppies are healthy and safe. Two more of our September rescues, Zena and Cricket, have been diagnosed with glaucoma and need immediate care to reduce their pain and eye pressure. And poor Lisa had a mouth full of rotten teeth that had to be pulled. She had a bad reaction to her post-surgery medication and had to be rushed back to the ER. We're so relieved to hear that she's feeling better this morning, but these unexpected medical needs have completely drained our funds. Lisa's ER bill alone was $994! SIRA maintains Katie's Fund to make sure we can care for our foster dogs. It was named in memory of a special young woman who went the extra mile for an injured Shiba. We don't turn down dogs based on age or medical need, but we can't help any more dogs on our waiting list until we replenish Katie's Fund. SIRA is 100% volunteer powered, so all funds go directly to care for the dogs we rescue. Gifts are fully tax deductible. Spring has sprung at CACC, and it's the purrfect time to welcome a furry friend into your life! Throughout the entire month of April, CACC is hosting its "Spring Furever" adoption event, offering a second bloom for shelter pets and a chance for them to find their forever homes.

Adoption fees will be waived every weekend at CACC, giving you the opportunity to open your heart and home to a deserving new family member. Additionally, adoption fees will be waived throughout April for any pet who has been at the shelter for 30 days or longer. These amazing pets are full of love and eager for a second chance.

Even if you can't adopt right now, you can still be a part of the "Spring Furever" movement! Spread the word to your friends and family about CACC's adoptable pets and the adoption promotions in effect throughout April. The more people who know, the more chances these animals have of finding their forever homes.
