Some fun facts about emeralds:

✨They are a variety of the mineral beryl.

✨They were first mined by the ancient Egyptians.

✨The name emerald comes from the Greek word smaragdus, meaning green gem.

✨More than half of the world emeralds come from Colombia.

✨Emeralds have been thought to enhance clairvoyance and intuition in their owner. They are also thought to guard against memory loss. (I think I need to wear more emeralds!!)

Aquamarine is one of my favorite stones. Maybe because the color reminds me of icy blue water, and with these gold prongs, it’s like a hint of sunshine… just like Chicago’s lakefront in March!

I love meaningful jewelry! And this has always been one of my favorite pieces my mom gave me. I’ve had it in my jewelry box as long as I can remember, and my mom had it in hers from when she was a little girl. It doesn’t even matter we’re not Irish, because c’mon, everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️💚

I love creating beautiful, meaningful jewelry that gives my clients this reaction.

This Reimagined Heirloom® started as my client’s mom’s pendant sitting in her jewelry box. She wanted a special statement ring that she didn’t have to save for special occasions.

I sketched up some ideas, and we used the aquamarine center stone, and added some of the tiny diamonds to create this magnificent sparkler!

Still processing my awe- inspiring adventure in Madagascar. Hiking in the rainforest and desert canyons, deep sea snorkeling in turquoise water, seeing all creatures great and small, colors you dream of, patterns like exquisite textiles.
