BomboBar has become an obsession that is beyond a cupcake replacement — Initially introducing dessert aficionados (and more specifically doughnut fans) to a new type of doughnut, the bomboloni. Simply put, a bomboloni is an Italian holeless doughnut. Since opening in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, BomboBar has become a phenomenon simply because patrons want to get a taste of all their over-the-top treats — Ranging from doughnuts and gelato to savory items like the BomboBurger and Pizza by the Square in Old Town.
