Here are a few photos from our 'Bags of Love' event hosted by our CIES Program through a partnership with the United Way of Pioneer Valley. Through this event, 22 families received pantry staples to asssist with making an amazing Thanksgiving Day meal possible. Special thanks to VOC team members Genesis and Tania and the United Way for making this special event happen!
Valley Opportunity Council’s (VOC) Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), helps eligible households challenged by the high cost of home heating fuel pay a portion of their winter heating bills through a fixed benefit amount for the cost of the primary source of heat
A representative from VOC is at our downtown office, 100 Elm Street, on Tuesday & Thursday weekly by appointment only. Customers can call 413-552-1548 to make an appointment for the Westfield location.

We also take walk ins at our 555 State St Springfield location and our 300 High St location in Holyoke. We have appointments available at offices in Chicopee, Westfield, Holyoke, and Springfield. As the area’s largest and most diverse Community Action Agency, Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. (VOC) has been serving individuals and families in the greater Hampden County area for over 50 years. VOC is dedicated to eliminating poverty by providing opportunities for individuals and families to achieve greater independence and a higher quality of life. In order to achieve this mission, we offer participants a wide variety of programs including adult education, center and family based early education and child care, college and career readiness programs, energy assistance, homeless and supportive services, housing, nutrition programs, senior services, tax assistance, and youth services.
