We will be having our all-open mic this month on Tuesday, October 10, signup at 6:30 p.m., program starting at 7:00 p.m. Please spread the word to people who would be interested in spoken word and are looking for something to do on a Tuesday night.
Next month, Donald Fisher, author of "On the Edge of Grace," will be the feature and he will read from his novel in progress. That will be taking place on Tuesday, November 28 (4th Tuesday of the month) with signup at 6:30 p.m., program starting at 7:00 p.m.

🌟 What is the Mass Cultural Council? 🌟
The Mass Cultural Council is here to support the arts, humanities, and sciences in Chicopee. They allocate funds and oversee a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) throughout the Commonwealth, ensuring that every city and town can embrace the magic of culture.
💰 Funding for FY24 💰
We have a generous allocation of $68,700 for the fiscal year 2024. With this funding, we continue our commitment to community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs. But there's more! This year, we're encouraging new applicants to join and adding wellness programs to our priorities.

🌟 Our 2024 Priorities 🌟
We focus on projects that elevate historically marginalized voices, promote equity and access, and involve coalition building, research, leadership, wellness, and youth development. Priority will be given to applicants who are Chicopee residents or partner with a Chicopee business, organization, or site.
📜 Local Guidelines for FY24 📜
Chicopee Cultural Council is part of a statewide effort to support community-based arts, sciences, and humanities projects. Our deadline for FY2024 grants is October 17, 2022 (unless otherwise stated by MCC). We welcome applications from organizations, schools, and individuals to bring unique cultural and creative activities to our community.
📆 Important Dates 📆
Projects must occur between Jan. 1, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2024.
Paperwork must be submitted by one year from the award letter date.
DIRECT FUNDING: You don't have to wait for your project to be completed to file for your funding.
Projects should occur in Chicopee unless you collaborate with other local cultural councils.
Applicants must reside or be located in Massachusetts.
🚫 What We Can't Fund 🚫
Unfortunately, unless specific conditions are met, we cannot fund transportation costs, chaperone costs for field trips, refreshments (food and beverages), or scholarships. However, capital expenses, project salaries for municipal employees, and other eligible expenses can be considered.

Chicopee's singing sensation, Maya Garncarz will be performing at the Chicopee Public Library this Thursday, August 17rd at 6:30pm! She will be joined by her teacher Dan Kane and several additional singers. Her music will include Pop, Jazz and Standards from the American Songbook.
Concerts are in the amphitheater behind the library. Bring chairs/blankets for seating. We'll move indoors for bad weather. The Friends of the Chicopee Public Library will be selling popcorn and other refreshments.

NEW INCA SON is an acclaimed music ensemble which recreates all the color and vibrance of its Peruvian Andean homeland. It includes talented musicians who play a variety of Andean instruments including the Charango, a 10- stringed instrument made from the body of an armadillo and Panpipes.
This program is supported by the Chicopee Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the MA Cultural council, a state agency.
