Troop 145 Scouts spent $120.00 to purchase 150 food items from Dollar General for the Montgomery County Christmas Store DG Employee Elaine greeted the Scouts and always asks to work a shift during Troop 145s visit because she admires their shopping skills. Then, Troop 145 worked to unbox, sort, count and box food inside the Christmas Store.
The St. Paul United Methodist Men President has requested URGENT assistance by Troop 145 Boy Scouts TODAY. They need help loading and unloading a trailer with items for the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program Wrapping Booth. This is annual holiday fundraiser.

The UMM will gladly purchase a Jimmy John’s sandwich for any Scout who helps since this service will occur before tonight’s Troop Meeting at 7:00 PM. Scouts can just walk over to the Dollar General after this provided supper.

Reminder: Tonight is the last night to sign up for the Lion’s Club December 1-2 shift to earn $10.00 per hour, which helps with Troop dues and fees. VT MB College Sign-up ends tonight in person or my email on Tuesday at noon.
Sign-Up via email to Lisa Bass or on the registration form by 9PM on Monday, November 20th to get your first choice. This is a great resource offered to our Scouts.

Tonight, Troop 145 continues to earn merit badges!
Troop 145 Scouts performed 1.5 hours of service to a fantastic local organization, the Montgomery County Christmas Store. Scouts folded and taped over 600 boxes, cleaned an old top shelf, built a potato bin, moved 42 cases of toilet paper, fixed shopping cart wheels, and prepared storage shelves for 1000 boxes of household supplies.
Troop 145 Boy Scouts will be meeting at the Montgomery County Christmas Store on Monday, October 30th 7-8:30PM. This is our annual service project for this awesome community organization! Wear Class-B and bring some gloves then get ready to....build/tape 700 boxes, clean the loading dock, build potato bins, climb up to clean some areas and MORE.
Congratulations to the latest Troop 145 Eagle Scout Ramsey Wondersek who completed his Board of Review this October 27, 2023! Ramsey’s Eagle Project was painting renovations of the upper level of VFW Post 5311 Leonard E McCoy.
The First Aid MB was taught on October 13th at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. Scouts from Troop 704, 46 and 145 attended!

Troop 145 Boy Scouts and family along with invited friends should plan on celebrating Back-to-School, an exciting Troop Year ahead and our supportive St. Paul UMC TODAY starting at 3:30pm at St. Paul UMC. There will be an obstacle course and water slide as well as food! Didn’t RSVP, no worries…please attend!
Troop 145 would like to say THANK YOU to Home Depot for the donation of fire starters! Boy Scouts greatly appreciate Home Depot’s support over the years! Some of these packets will be shared with Pack 145s for their September Family Campout and for Flag Retirements. Troop 145 will be using these fire starters for campouts. The rest will be shared other New River Scout units.
With schools opening this and next weeks, summer is not over and Troop 145 is looking forward to a new 2023-2024 Scout Year. A good way to start is a Back to School Celebration! Pack 145 has reserved a giant water slide and Troop 145 will have an obstacle course. St. Paul UMC is inviting Pack 145 and Troop 145 families to join in their annual picnic to show their continued support of Scouting!
The Troop portion will start at 3:30 PM. The St. Paul UMC members will join in the fun starting at 4:00 PM. Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM. If a Pack 145 family is willing or able to help out (set-up, clean-up and/or bring side dish or drink), please indicate on this sign-up sheet:

A few pictures from the week so far. Rained a lot Monday, a little tuesday, and a relatively dry Wednesday so far. The boys have been enjoying their classes and last night ASM Russ Williams with the help of the boys made some homemade strawberry ice cream.
