You can accomplish naturalization in two years with temporary or permanent resident cards.

TOURIST DIGITAL MULTIPLE MIGRATORY FORM BY AIR

If you enter Mexico by air, you will no longer have to complete the Multiple Electronic Migration Form (FMMe) or the Multiple Migration Form on paper. Instead, the INM National Institute of Immigration Agents will scan your passport and give you an entry stamp indicating the time allowed to stay in the country and initial by hand the letter (T), which stands for tourist.

The INM Immigration Agent will create the digital FMM FORM online, which you can download afterward by logging in to this website: https://www.inm.gob.mx/spublic/portal/inmex.html. You must create an account and have sixty days to download it.

3 easy steps how to obtain a Temporary or Permanent Mexico Resident Visa/Card:

Step one:
Apply in person for a TR or PR Mexico Visa in the Mexican Consulate or Embassy in US

Step two:
1 to 180 days after the visa is approved in the Mexican Consulate, you must validate it, obtain an entry stamp and an FMM FORM FOR CANJE at the Mexico border or airport

Step three:
Exchange the TR or PR Mexico Visa and the FMM FOR CANJE for the TR CARD or PR CARD in the closest Mexico INM office where you live!

REINSTATEMENT FOR TEMPORARY MEXICO RESIDENT CARD EXPIRED FOR LESS THAN 60 DAYS

Applicable to the foreigner out of immigration status who has an expired Temporary Resident card for less than 60 days from the expiration day.

TEMPORARY MEXICO RESIDENT CARD EXPIRED
If you are traveling outside Mexico and your Temporary Resident Card expires. You have 55 days grace time to renew it from the expiration day. The renewal must be done within 5 days after your return to Mexico. If you are traveling by air or land it is a MUST to request exit and re-entry stamp from the INM Immigration agent in order to qualify for late renewal.

THE FMM FORM FOR TEMPORARY MEXICO RESIDENTS IS NOT AVAILABLE ON LINE THIS WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE INM AGENT UPON ARRIVAL.

REQUIREMENTS:

VALID PASSPORT, TEMPORARY MEXICO RESIDENT CARD ( GREEN CARD) AND MEXICO ADDRESS

This FMM FORM is mandatory for Temporary Mexico Resident Card Holders every time they enter Mexico. This FMM FORM is not available online, upon arrival to Mexico the INM Agent at the airport will provide it to fill out by hand. In addition to the FMM FORM it is a must a Temporary Resident Card, and passport. Make sure the form is always marked RESIDENTE TEMPORAL & OTRO.

What happen if I forgot or lost the my Temporary Resident Card? If you found out when you arrived at the airport you must talk to a INM supervisor, you will be given instructions how to replace it, at the local office where you first obtained it.

Is it okay to obtain an FMM FORM FOR TOURISM and later replace it? No, if you do that you will lose your Temporary Resident Status and start all over, because by law you can not have two immigration status at the same time.

I lost my Temporary Resident Card outside Mexico where do I replace it? You must go to a local Mexican Consulate where you lost it and apply for replacement. The consulate will give you a Temporary Visa for 180 days then you should go to the local IMN office in Mexico where you first obtained the Temporary Resident Card and a apply for replacement.

The first step for Temporary and Permanent Mexico Green Card applicants, is to apply for this visa in the nearest Mexican Consulate or Embassy where they reside. After the visa is approved and affixed to their passport they must complete the process in the corresponding Mexico INM office closer to their Mexico address, and exchange it for the Temporary or Permanent Mexico Green Card. The visa will be valid for 180 days which means they must start the process before it expires, otherwise will be voided.

FMM FORM FOR CAJE SAMPLE this is required after the temporary or permanent visa is affixed on the applicants passport in the Mexican Consulates. This form can only be obtained at the Mexico airports or borders. Will be valid for 30 days and marked for Canje.
