Eastlake High School

This is Kai Evans, a Sophomore from Lake Minneola High School Track and Field from Lake Minneola, Florida. With a time of 52.92 seconds tonight, he was announced as Number One in the United States for 2023 with the 400M Hurdles. I got to see his win at the finish line as I photographed the event for Mile Split.
Here, he is presented a hurdle from Davenport High School to commemorate his win tonight at the FHSAA 3A Region 2 Track playoff meet in Davenport, Florida.
Additionally, he placed 2nd in the 100M, with 10.88 seconds (PR), 1st the 200M at 21.10 seconds (PR), 2nd in the 110M hurdles at 14.86 seconds. He now advances to Jacksonville for the State Championship Track Meet May 17-20.
This is the second time I have witnessed an event announced as the best in the USA for 2023 in two months. Last time, I saw Sophie Haag of Eastlake High School of Tarpon Springs, Florida win it in the 200M (all wind conditions) at IMG Academy In Bradenton, Florida in March.
