October is National Orthodontic Health Month!

According to a study in 2021 by BMC Oral Health, approximately "75% of orthodontic patients are under 18 years of age, [however,] the demographic composition of orthodontic patients is changing and the number of adults under treatment is increasing".

Life is busy and sometimes in a rush you may grab the wrong aligner. If you find yourself confused and want to make sure you’re still on track, simply look to your aligner to see which number you are on and to make sure it is the same number for both upper and lower arches (unless otherwise stated by your orthodontist.

The picture below shows a magnified view of where to look. You’ll see on the back molar area, a U for upper and L for lower followed by the aligner number.
