The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) in raising awareness about the dangers of high potassium levels in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients through their "Are You O-K+" campaign on May 1st.

The “Are You O-K+” campaign utilizes the scientific symbol of potassium, “K+,” with a popular message, “Are You Ok,” to encourage individuals with kidney diseases to know their potassium level.

President Biden has declared April 2024 as National Donate Life Month. This proclamation honors organ donors, their families, and healthcare professionals in the transplant community. It highlights the need for more organ donors, especially for people of color, as over 100,000 people are currently waiting for a life-saving transplant. The President outlines efforts his administration is taking to improve the organ donation system and support transplant recipients. He encourages all Americans to register as organ donors at organdonor.gov.
