EastLake Church

Bright Hope School is one way to help address the children’s needs. By running a sponsorship program in the school. it can provide classes from grades 1 – 7 as well as food, nutrition and vitamins. Children also receive free medical care provided by the clinic. The school has children who walk from their homes to attend daily as well as those who are residents. A Biblical foundation and education is provided to all students.

The EastLake Church network has been a longstanding partner with Bright Hope and HCCP, financially supporting the school and orphanage, individually sponsoring children, and sending teams to Uganda to work in the school and orphanage. It is our privilege to partner with Bright Hope and be a part of impacting lives for Jesus around the world.

Kick off the Christmas season TONIGHT at 5:30pm at a festive event with all your favorite traditions! Begin the night with a family-friendly service in our East Auditorium, complete with Christmas carols and a reading of the Christmas story.

Let's not forget some picture-perfect moments with Santa, the Grinch, and Frozen's Elsa and Anna, along with Rudolf. Wrap up the evening with falling snow, tree lighting, and some holiday treats that are sure to give you all the warm feels.

This event is completely free, and everyone is welcome to join the festivities!

This Sunday we'll continue our holiday series, Making Room for Christmas, as we unpack ways this Advent season can teach us to walk out a Jesus way of life.

ADVENT DEVOTIONAL
WEEK 1: HOPE (PROMISE)
On this first Sunday of Advent, we await in hope for the coming of Jesus, the Savior of the world. What does hope mean to you? On whom or in what have you placed your hope?

PRAYER:
God of all hope. May your Holy Spirit strengthen my heart, confirm my faith and hope in you, by your grace and mercy.

Visit eastlake.church/advent for a once a week (on Sunday) advent devotional. Each week a new devotional will appear for you.

This is an exciting time in a child's life as they start to ask questions about their faith and wonder what role they play in their church community.

Join us in the Christmas Offering as we partner together to collect 500 toys that will be donated and distributed to kids and families in need in Mexico. As you start conversations with your kids about the Christmas Offering, be open to their questions and together, you can work towards wise use of what God has given to you. "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV) The four categories of toys that we're collecting are: legos, balls, baby dolls, and arts & crafts kits.

Giving Tuesday is today and it's a great way to help support The Christmas Offering! Since 2009, the churches and congregations of the Community Church Movement have made a concerted effort to celebrate Christmas by being generous to the world in need around us.

Over that time, we've collectively given over $7.4 million dollars to support community partnerships, outreach projects, compassion initiatives, and church multiplication efforts here, near, and far.

Last week, EastLake Church inaugurated its new Hall of Fame! We were able to “hang the jerseys” for six remarkable people who have contributed immensely to the growth, health, and life of our church.

Our honorees included Denise Cruz (22 years), the founder and long-standing director of the EastLake Children’s Center;

Sherri Kelly (23 years), who served as the assistant director and later director of the EastLake Children’s Center;

Laura Randall (23 years), our director of finance and operations for many years;

Jennifer Nichols (15 years), our long-time director of human resources; and Mike and Carmen Meeks (25 years) who led our church from 1997 until transitioning to a Pastor Emeritus role in 2017.

We encourage you to come see the new Hall of Fame installation in the upper campus hallway leading toward the Student Commons room!

Tonight is a culmination of our 5 week long series FOR with a celebration of worship and baptisms after a season filled with community service across 8 locations, 13 congregations, 2500 people serving in the projects and over 5000 hours of community service.
