I am truly honored to have been requested by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), to be a panel speaker, regarding the impact that the recent NAR Settlement has on Veterans and the VA Home Loan Benefit in Greater San Diego!

Currently, the VA currently does NOT allow for veterans to pay for buyer representation, which jeopardizes the acceptance rate of VA Loans significantly! Even if the VA allows us to pay for buyer representation, this can cost veterans up to an additional 3% (nationally) for buyer agent representation to own a home, and make it that much harder to purchase a home! The entire reason that the VA Guarantee was put into affect inn 1944 was to avoid heavy upfront costs, as veterans are not paid in line with their civilian counterparts.

There are many questions that need to be answered, and I am again honored to use my platform to change the way veterans are served through real estate! Although I will be on Capital Hill in June with VAREP tackling this issue and two others, it starts with educating our own Real Estate and Lending Professionals!

Today I received the official graphic and details surrounding the what being the Affiliate of the Year by the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors entails. Wow, this recognition is HUGE, as I was told that this award represents not just my personal and business achievements, but also the support and collaboration of an incredible community. The dedication to our real estate and lending clients stood out along with the fact that my passion to serve veterans and their families was unparalleled and evident with innovative programs to ongoing education and involvement in civic/veteran affairs.
