🦋Special needs services and accommodations for all ages🦋

Other than my passion for bringing bright colors into everyday life through hair, I am extremely passionate about making sure my special needs community is accommodated when getting their hair needs met. It started when trying to figure out the best way to cut my 9 year old niece Skylar’s hair to make sure she fit in with her friends. With Skylar being wheelchair bound, constantly moving, and I also did not want to traumatize her every time I came around her, we had to get very creative. It was that challenge that sparked my passion to work with the special needs community to make sure every one of my new buddies looked just like their friends and family. From autism, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorders, to dementia- I will work with each and every one of you. Whether it takes 30 minutes or 8 hours, I can wholeheartedly promise I will get creative with the utmost love and care to achieve the best outcome possible. 💜

The experience of getting a haircut or service is different for every client. Some of my new buddies are excited and look forward to each visit, but for others, the experience can be overwhelming and even a little scary, especially for my buddies who may have special needs or special sensory accommodations. I’m ready to work with you and my new buddy through wiggles, tears, and fears to ensure they look and feel beautiful/handsome when their hair service is complete.

If my new buddy is afraid of haircuts, I would recommend bringing them into the salon before their appointment. I’ll have them to look around and explore our loving and accepting space so they can familiarize themselves with the sights, sounds, smells, and all my friends they may encounter during their visit.

If at anytime my new buddy gets overwhelmed during their service, we can press pause, and they can be brought back in on another day to finish their service at no additional cost.

When it’s time for their appointment, I will explain each step of the process appropriately so they can understand what I am doing. I will handle sensory issues with great care, such as spraying water on combs and brushes instead of directly onto their hair, I can use scissors instead of the loud/vibrating clippers if needed, or just taking some extra time and care as to not overwhelm my new buddy.
