Jones Lake Management: Electrofishing largemouth bass release
It's officially summer which means we're switching gears from fish stocking to electrofishing population surveys. Electrofishing applies a direct current to the water column to stun fish. Our team collects the stunned fish from the surface with a net to identify, count, weigh and age members of the fish population. Once we're done collecting data, the fish are safely released back into the water. This bass was netted and assessed during a recent electrofishing.
