This year’s Nia Collection show was something special ✨ MFA Dual student curated this show alongside Donalyn White from the , incorporating MFA student and alumni work to accompany pieces from the gifted collection. These works were selected to represent the theme of gentleness taking form , with some students reframing their original pieces to interact with the show ( like ceramics from “Chonktown” and ‘s “Tool Wall”) while other pieces were specifically created to fit the space ( hanging ceramic piece and .lum ‘s gilded branch). The show is a beautiful testament to CGU’s commitment to transdisciplinary studies, and we are proud to have Sarah Stevenson representing the MFA program to bring the Nia Collection Exhibition into a new era. Congrats to all the students involved!

Our first Visiting Artist Lecture is TONIGHT - join us in welcoming to the CGU MFA VALS. About the artist : “Strauss is known internationally for her distinct version of documentary photography. Though made without digital intervention, Strauss’ pictures undermine the authority of the image through repetition, context shifts, and historical reframing. While rooted in specific real events, Strauss’ images resist asserting themselves as objective. They are deeply particular, subjective pictures of the world, and cast doubt over the veracity of the documentary image.”
