I take great pride in taking something old and tattered and making it beautiful and useful again! I specialize in chalk painting furniture and not only do I resell the pieces I buy, I am also happy to provide the service of taking a piece of furniture that you provide and paint it any color you'd like. I work with a variety of brands, love to blend colors, and my specialty is adding little details to really create a standout piece. I can work with you to customize the piece to your liking.
To say we are thrilled with the way our sunroom turned out is definitely an understatement! We knew we needed to do something to spruce up our screened in back porch. It was probably one of our favorite rooms in the house, but it was really starting to show its age. The screens were starting to fall off and had rips in them, the wood was starting to rot in some places and just looking really shabby. We decided instead of re-screening it and revamping what we had, to convert this into an all seasons room because we do love it so much and want to be able to use it year-round. We cannot wait to sit out here when it snows in the winter! I designed this room around the furniture that we already had because I had all of this reupholstered when we moved in and didn’t want the expense of having to buy all new furniture for this room right away. I also still wanted it to feel like a porch and not feel too living room like. I have no regrets about white washing the ceiling with whitewash stain! The floor is from and we couldn’t love it more for its bold and unique design! The light fixture is from which is my go to source for lighting. The wiggle switchplate covers are ; I have them all over my house! Thank you Devin Tokash with DCT (Dynamic Construction Transformations). You always nail my crazy visions!
This “Carson” bed frame has been painted in General Finishes milk paint in the color Key West. It will be utilized in a client’s lake cottage so the color is just perfect for a space like that! I love General Finishes paint. It’s so self leveling and I also really love their topcoat. The result is always a nice smooth finish even though I hand brushed and didn’t spray. The sides of this bed, (not pictured), were kept natural to compliment the natural slats.
Allow me to introduce you to Vera! I’ve really hit a string of French Provincial pieces lately and I’m here for it. French Provincial furniture is so lovely on its own that it makes my job easy to beautify it even more. This piece was painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint in the classic and timeless color Oxford Navy. I used black wax to deepen the color and add depth. I spray painted the original drawer pulls and replaced the old door pulls with something a little different. This piece is solid, sturdy, and heavy. It offers outstanding storage and would be perfectly utilized in a dining room to store platters, glassware, table linens, liquor, etc. I could also see it being used in a living room as a tv stand to store board games, puzzles, video games, etc. Dimensions are 61 1/4” W x 34” H x 19 1/2” D. Vera is FOR SALE for $445. Please contact to purchase.
Meet Paige! She’s been given a major and much needed facelift. We utilized this piece in my little one’s nursery initially and then, in my older daughter’s room. It was time for a bigger dresser so we are now letting go of this pretty and unique dresser that would be perfect for a guest room or another nursery! It worked really well for us as a changing table too! I stripped the paint off of the drawers and I love the burled wood that was exposed. I shined that up with wood cleaner and painted the rest with an Annie Sloan chalk paint color called Coolabah Green. All drawers are lined with one of my favorite Opalhouse for Target peel and stick wallpapers. Paige is sitting pretty at my space at From Drab to Fab in Mayfield, PA and is for sale for $325. Dimensions are 44 1/2 W x 34” H x 20” D.
This little lady joined the matching dresser I completed recently for a sweet little girls bedroom. Her name is Henrietta. The nightstand; not the little girl. 😆 I painted this piece with Dixie Belle Silk paint in the color Whitecap. All original hardware was used…just cleaned and spray painted. Drawer liner is Love Shack Fancy.
The Daphne breakfast nook corner bench is now available for sale at my space at From Drab to Fab in Mayfield, PA! I sanded and stained the bench seats and painted the rest in the ever popular Lamp Black by General Finishes milk paint. Both bench seats lift open for storage! This piece does not come with a table, however, I think paired with a small round table and a few random chairs, it would be so charming! This would also be great in an entryway or mudroom! Measurements are 20” D x 64 1/4” L (on long side) and 48 1/2” L on shorter side.
Everyone has really been digging white and gold lately! This piece looks almost identical to the French Provincial dresser I did for my older daughter recently. The moldings on this one are just a bit different. Regardless, this piece, that I’ve named Juliet, is a beauty! There is a nightstand that I’ll be finishing soon that matches this piece. Juliet will be utilized in a sweet little girl’s “big girl” room. The vibe is Love Shack Fancy so of course we had to use a Love Shack Fancy drawer liner!
I delivered this piece to my client over a week ago and am just now getting around to posting her! I named this piece Nicholette. 🤍 I wasn’t able to take staged photos like I normally do because this piece is so big and I didn’t have the heart to ask my husband to help me move it inside just so I could take pictures. 😆 Nicholette has been painted with Dixie Belle Silk paint in the color Whitecap. The new modern hardware really contributed to updating this piece! I have had this hardware on hand for awhile and the scale of it fit so nicely with the doors on this piece. I needed two more drawer pulls for the middle drawer so I found some complimentary ones at Hobby Lobby and spray painted them all to match. My client is thrilled with this transformation! 🦚
I let my daughter name this piece because it is being showcased in her bedroom and was essentially designed by her as she requested white paint (a dagger to my heart 😝), gold hardware, and chose the drawer liner. She named this piece Eliana which is appropriate because it contains all of the letters in her own name, Elin, but I don’t think she even realized that. 😆 I used a stain blocking primer on this because I was afraid that it might bleed which just means that sometimes the old finish will come through the paint and cause pink or yellow stains to show up. I then used Dixie Belle’s Silk line in the color Whitecap. I spray painted the hardware and the drawer liner is from Target.com! This piece is just so elegant and feminine; I have such a soft spot for French provincial furniture.
This Rebekah rocker is now available FOR SALE and just in time for front porch sittin’ season! She’s been painted in Annie Sloan chalk paint in the color Emperor’s Silk. The seat cushion has been built from the bottom up with a completely new piece of custom cut plywood along with all new cotton, foam, fabric, etc. This newly upholstered seat can also be removed! I would highly recommend that this be utilized on a covered porch, sunroom, etc. These primary colors are absolutely singing together! The Rebekah rocker can be yours for $215. Local delivery is available for an additional fee.
This adorable Annabelle shelf is FOR SALE! Despite the gloomy day and poor lighting, I still got some nice shots of this cute display piece. It is perfect for a little girl’s room or playroom. I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in the color Henrietta and Rifle Paper Company peel and stick wallpaper in garden party. A strong and durable wall mirror kit has been installed on the back for easy hanging. Annabelle measures 35 1/2” H x 30” W x 7” D. This piece is $115. Contact to purchase.
I named this piece Avielle. I chose the name before I even started to ponder why I was drawn to it and I think because in the back of my mind, I’m thinking of the term aviary, which is an enclosure for birds. This piece is an aviary! I personally love birds, and the older I get, the more drawn I am to them. Welcome to my 40’s. 😆 This paper that I used to line the drawers, I had misplaced for a bit. I had planned to use it for the coffee table I did recently, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. After my client dropped this off, she mentioned that she loves birds and she loves the colors green and purple. I knew in that moment that the paper I had misplaced was meant to be hers! I found it shortly thereafter and it could not be a better fit. For paint, I used the Dixie Belle Silk line in the color Cactus. I kept the original hardware on the middle drawer because I really liked it and then I ordered the top smaller bird k***s from Etsy and the bottom, bigger bird k***s I got from Hobby Lobby. I spray painted them all the same color so that it would be cohesive. I love that it doesn’t match, but it’s all complimentary. I turned the bottom k***s to form a shape that I felt was flattering to the the swirls on the doors. I also used black wax on this piece which I feel makes it look more antiqued, and gives it a lot more character. Overall, this avian beauty is ready for a special place in my client’s nest.
This piece is so incredibly unique! I have used this piece in my own home for probably the past 10 years as a nightstand and then as an end table in our living room. I finally decided to revamp it and sell it and when I sanded the top, I could not believe this amazing burl wood that I discovered! Burl wood only grows when trees grow exterior burls; they are harder to find than other types of wood and are generally more expensive because of their beauty and scarcity. I named this piece Tara. She’s been painted with one of my favorite Annie Sloan chalk paint colors: Duck Egg. The drawer liner is Rifle Paper Co. Tara is available for sale at my space at From Drab to Fab in Mayfield, PA for $165.
Miss Florence here is a piece I picked up at an antique shop that was going out of business and before I could even start thinking about what I wanted to do with it, I had a girlfriend from college view it in my story and she snagged it up for me to customize for her daughter’s bedroom! It’s a really sweet little nightstand that has such a feminine flair to it. I love pieces like this that have old character and charm. I especially love the molding. This color by Dixie Belle chalk paint is called Sea Glass; it’s such a beautiful beachy, calming hue. I blended it with a little bit of white paint to give it a soft and dreamy effect. Florence will be traveling all the way across the state to Pittsburgh where my girlfriend lives. I love that my small business is being supported by people near and far!
The Celine coffee table is now available FOR SALE! I scooped this unique piece up at an antique shop that was going out of business. I fell in love with all of her pretty details: those legs, the claw feet, the drawers (love me some storage), the drop leaf sides… I stripped and sanded down the top and used a technique called cerusing. The bottom is painted in Dixie Belle Silk paint in the color Bay Breeze. The claw feet polished up beautifully with Brasso. How sweet is the bird paper lining the drawers? I acquired that at the Boden Outlet! They were using it for a time to stuff their shopping bags and I’ve been saving it for a special project. Celine measures 40 1/2 “ L (a whopping 56 1/2” with leaves extended) x 16” D x 21” H. This piece is solid and heavy. She can be yours for $189.
Kya, meaning “sky diamond” or “diamond in the sky”, seemed like an appropriate name for this piece today even though in northeast PA we didn’t see much of the eclipse. I should’ve named this piece Cloudy. 😆 I had a plan to keep this desk Annie Sloan’s Capri Pink, which is the base color, but then I decided to blend some Annie Sloan Emperor’s Silk and Dixie Belle’s Plum Crazy to further complement the Lilly Pulitzer wrapping paper that I decoupaged to the inside of the desk. I spray painted the hinges gold and drilled a hole to attach the lion pull which I feel really adds some character! Some black and gold wax add even more dimension and interest. Kya is available for sale for $199. Dimensions are 34” W x 27” H (in front; 32 1/2” in back due to slant) x 21 1/4” D.
FOR SALE! 🦚
The “Harley” desk is now available for purchase! This desk offers amazing storage with her six deep side drawers and middle top drawer with divider. Harley has been painted in General Finishes milk paint in the very popular Lamp Black color. I top-coated this piece twice with a water-based finish. All drawers are lined and all hardware has been updated. This is an elegant, solid piece of furniture that could be utilized in a multitude of spaces. Dimensions are 44 7/8” W x 29 3/4” H x 19” D. Contact to purchase ($259).
Meet Tatum! This piece is so versatile! She can be utilized as a desk or writing table, a vanity, or used in an entryway or hallway to hide away keys and other essentials. I painted this piece with Annie Sloan satin paint in the color Carnaby Yellow. What I love about this color is that it makes a statement but can still be utilized as a neutral in a room so it doesn’t take over. It’s a nice way to add a pop of color without being too much! As you can see here, it pairs so nicely with cobalt blue, but it also would look fantastic with navy, turquoise or even an emerald green. I feel like I’ve been seeing a lot about cottagecore design lately and this piece I feel fits into that aesthetic. It’s a timeless vintage piece. Dimensions are 34” W x 30” H x 18” D. Tatum is available for sale for $215.
The color of this piece is electrifying! I used Dixie Belle chalk paint in Flamingo. 🦩 I named this piece Calista. I am actually donating this cute little coral table to the South Abington Ladies Tea Fundraiser which is being held at the Scranton Country Club on Sunday, April 14th. I am on the committee for this event so please let me know if you’d like to buy a ticket and attend! We serve a tasty lunch, it’s a beautiful setting, there is a huge raffle with so many amazing themed baskets and other donations and it’s fun to dress up and enjoy a glass of wine with your girlfriends in the afternoon! In addition, it is our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps the PTA plan many fun events throughout the school year, grants teachers classroom materials, helps provide free books at the book fair, funds field trips, etc. Also, if you are a local business and would like to donate to this event, it’s a great way to advertise your business because SO MANY local women attend! Please contact me if you are interested; no donation is too small. I am planning to adorn Calista with a colorful flower pot and plant that will be included in the raffle. I could see her being utilized as a plant stand or little side table or nightstand to house a small lamp and/or drink.
I couldn’t resist making my handsome boy the cover photo of this post! I mean, come on you guys…is he not the perfect model? I found this piece on FB Marketplace and while it is technically a dresser (it came with a mirror I decided to do away with), this piece is giving me major buffet vibes! This could absolutely be utilized as a dresser OR a buffet/sideboard. It’s got great storage! My good friend helped me come up with the name Drucinda. That is a unique name for a unique piece like this! I originally thought I’d keep her all white, (I used Dixie Belle chalk paint in Fluff), but I just couldn’t do it. I added black wax to create this worn in look. The detailed molding on this piece really lends itself to the black wax; I love the shading effect it creates. It took a few trips to Hobby Lobby to settle on hardware; the old hardware was too clunky and dated for my taste. Drucinda really shined up like a new penny! She’ll be available starting tomorrow at my space at From Drab to Fab in Mayfield, Pa for $399. Dimensions are 60” W x 30” H x 17 3/4” D.
Another piece saved from the landfill! I at first drove by this on my way home one day recently as it was lying in someone’s front yard ready for the trash, and I told myself not to turn around, but I couldn’t help myself. 😆 I somehow managed to get it into my car myself and here we are. This thing is solid and sturdy and there was no reason for it to be in the trash. It just needed some TLC. It needed a very thorough cleaning and some wood filler. I also reinforced the back corners with some brackets for better stabilization. This piece, that I’ve named Blake, has gone from trash to class! The Blake bookcase was painted with Dixie Belle’s Silk line in Deep Sea. I top coated twice with a water-based topcoat even though technically the silk line doesn’t require a topcoat because it is already built in, but I just figured it would be good to put some added protection on it since it’s being utilized in a child’s room.
Meet Tamara! I scooped this up recently from a home that was being liquidated. At first glance, it didn’t excite me much, but upon further examination, I realized that it is an extremely solid piece of furniture (completely solid wood) that is in really good condition. The sailboat that was originally on the middle drawer was really throwing me off. At first, I thought it could be cute to play it up and then I just felt like it was really pigeonholing me in terms of design, so I pried that thing off and went in a different direction. I guess I was still feeling some coastal vibes because this definitely ended up taking on somewhat of a beachy look with the calming blue color I chose, Dixie Belle’s Quiet Cove Silk paint, and the driftwood semblance of the wood. To get this look, I completely stripped the old paint and finish off of the top and drawers and then sanded thoroughly. I then stained the wood, and while I thought I might originally just keep it stained, I didn’t like the way it looked, so I used a white wash over the stain to create this driftwood effect. I really like it! The drawers all glide easily and provide ample storage. I do not have a chair to sell with this piece, however, I don’t feel it would be difficult to find a chair that would be suitable with this desk. We purchased this fuzzy one from Home Goods; they always have chairs like this there. If you wanted something a little more traditional, I feel that you could easily find a random dining chair at a vintage shop or online. This desk measures 40 1/4” W x 29” H x 19” D. Please contact me with any questions and for pricing info. Tamara is available for sale and will be taken to From Drab to Fab this Thursday unless she sells before then.
Calling all superhero, specifically Superman, lovers! While I typically choose feminine names, this piece has to be named Clark. 🦸♂️ I found this children’s desk at an estate sale recently. It’s a solid desk with a swivel chair. I sanded the top and drawers down completely and re-stained. The body of the piece is painted in Dixie Belle Silk in “Cape” (get it?) Current and the chair is Annie Sloan chalk paint in Emperor’s Silk. I found some vintage Superman comic books to line the drawers. That is definitely my favorite part! Clark is $199 and available for sale in Mayfield, PA. This would be a sweet gift from the Easter bunny for a special little boy in your life! I’d say this desk would be appropriate for a child 2-8 years old. Dinemsions are 30” W x 25” H x 18 1/4” D.
I found this piece, whom I’ve named Portia, on Facebook Marketplace and while I figured she would be quite a bit of work, I really fell in love with the detail on the front legs and knew I could pretty her up. First, I completely stripped all of the old paint off of the piece which was quite a process. I then sanded the entire piece with my orbital sander and hand sanded some areas. I stained the top and the front legs and also used some dark wax over the stain. The original drawer pulls on the top drawer were completely crooked so I had to fill all of those holes with Bondo and then drill new holes for this hardware. I can honestly say that was the first time I’ve ever had to drill new holes for hardware, which is hard to believe for as many pieces as I’ve flipped. I am super proud that I was able to accomplish this because while it might not seem like a big deal, it was pretty nerve-racking after putting all of this work into it and then drilling holes into it and hoping that they came out even. 😆 I found this hardware at Hobby Lobby and when I bought it, it was black, but I spray painted it gold. The drawers and sides are painted with Dixie Belle Silk paint in the color Cactus. This piece would be really pretty in a small guestroom or even as an entryway or hallway table. Dimensions are 32 3/4” W x 30” H x 19 1/2” D. I am taking this piece to From Drab to Fab today in Mayfield, PA to put in my space there and it will be available for sale starting tomorrow when they open at 10am!
Meet Madison! She will be joining the piece I shared earlier this week, Mira, in a room that my client really wanted to spruce up a bit, and the colors of these two pieces are perfect because they somewhat act as neutrals, but they still add a splash of color without going too bold. The color of this piece is Annie Sloan’s Old Violet which I really love…It’s hard to capture the true color in pictures because in person it really is this beautiful blue violet but in pictures it tends to look more gray. The original hardware on this piece really dated it so we chose these modern drawer pulls that really make a statement. This piece is very versatile and is a great storage unit! The backside of it is completely finished and painted, which I didn’t picture, but the reason for that is because this piece is on wheels and is essentially to be used as a serving piece; it would be best utilized as a bar cart! Wheel Madison my way, mix me up a Manhattan, and let’s mingle!
Would you have ever guessed that this unique little table was purchased at a Christmas Tree Shops store?! I particularly love the shape of it and the round escutcheon pieces of the hardware. I’ve had this Anthropologie drawer pull for a long time and this seemed like the perfect piece to finally showcase it! This piece, that I’ve named Mira, was painted in Annie Sloan chalk paint in Duck Egg Blue. I initially tried to polish the hardware using Brasso, but it didn’t really do anything so I ended up spray painting it. This piece of furniture has transformed into something so elegant!
What a transformation! This is another piece I saved from my neighbor’s trash pile; I could see the potential in this cute little table as soon as I saw it on the curb. I sanded down the legs to the bare wood and stained it using Dixie Belle Voodoo gel stain in Au Naturel. The rest of the piece is painted with Dixie Belle Silk in Midnight Green. I used parts of a Re-Design with Prima floral transfer to infuse a bit more personality into the piece. I named her Lily. 🤍 Lily is available for sale at From Drab to Fab in Mayfield, PA.
I rescued this piece, whom I’ve named Sandra, from a neighbor’s curbside trash this past summer. 🤯 I knew it had potential and who doesn’t want/need an end table or nightstand with ample storage?! I sanded the top down thoroughly and stained it with General Finishes water based stain in Black Cherry. The base has been painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Oxford Navy. I used black wax to add dimension and clear wax for protection. K***s from Hobby Lobby. This piece will be available for sale in my space starting this Friday!
