We got a call from friends at Grady Memorial Hospital that they were getting low on PPEs, so we donated 600 of our surgical gowns and 60 isolation gowns. Northlake wants to thank all the doctors and nurses on the front lines. Also, thanks to our veterinary clients for being understanding while we triage surgical procedures during this crisis.

We took some time out from repairing dogs and cats to work with Chattahooche Nature Center Wildlife Rehabiliation to help this little guy out. Beautiful bird. Nice work Dr. Greenwood.

Cooper is looking very sporty and Zen in her collar!

I am so happy with the job Dr. Coleman at Northlake Veterinary Surgery, LLC did with our little Cooper and the progress she is making. Using her leg. Finally taking her meds (cream cheese balls are still working). And doing all that other stuff like she's supposed to, i.e. me stalking her on a p**p.

Liam walking 3 days post-op

Liam from Great Pyrenees Rescue Atlanta walking 3 days after surgery to repair his left femur. His x-rays are in the previous post.

When Liam was shot his left femur was shattered, and he was saved by Great Pyrenees Rescue Atlanta. We repaired him with a bone plate, a pin down the shaft of his femur, and a bone graft. The video in the next post is Liam walking 3 days after surgery. He is a very sweet and tough dog.

Cindy

Scoots has come a long way!

Scoots can walk like a normal puppy!

Cindy

Scoots developed with severe lateral patella luxations in both knees. Because she was unable to extend her knees for the first years of her life, her hamstring muscles had contracted. Her repair required that her femurs be shortened in combination with her patella repair surgery to produce more mechanically normal legs.

Scoots on her first day with Atlanta Boxer Rescue. What a difference from this to the video posted separately of her post op on an underwater treadmill.

Daryl pain free = Awesome. He was a champion through the process!

This special guy(the brindle one) is named Daryl. He was rescued by my mom one day before he was scheduled to be put down as an eight month old puppy. When she got him home I immediately noticed something different about his gait. I am a small animal gp vet and X-rays at my clinic showed he had severe bilateral hip dysplasia. Despite helping clients daily with hard decisions with their pets I found it was hard to think clearly with my own baby. Dr. Corse was awesome with my big guy and got him in to have bilateral FHO's the next week. The staff is great keeping you updated before and after surgery and I felt so comfortable leaving him with them. He was not able to be a normal happy puppy with out loads of pain meds on a daily basis, and now six months out from surgery, he is totally pain free and has decided to make up for lost time by going through his puppy stage at a year and a half. I am so thankful for the care and attention we received at NVS and recommend them for any client who needs their services. Thanks Northlake, from Dr. Weir and Daryl!
