With 20,000 customers out at our peak, we are down to 11,000 customers, but it will still be a long road ahead. There are 100+ poles that will need to be replaced. Crews are working rotating 24-hour shifts to quickly and safely restore power.

I never thought about being in politics, much less running for office. But after being diagnosed with a fatal pregnancy, having to find healthcare out of state & my daughter dying in the process, it truly put into perspective how little our reps care about us.

My daughter came home from school today with 4 quarters and said, “Mommy, I have enough money now so daddy doesn’t have to work so late.” I responded, “oh? Do you miss daddy?” She says, “Well, I just know how stressed you and daddy are. So, I asked Mr Ski (my neighbor that gets her home from school) for some money so you & daddy can stay home. Look I have enough to pay for everything.” She’s 6. 🥺

I’m almost 10,000 words into writing my story. Revisiting the details of the trauma I experienced has taken a toll on me. But I’m still going to continue to write because my story matters, Miley matters.

Juggling being a mom, working 55 hours a week, barely affording our bills & running for office isn’t easy. The system is designed to keep people like me out. I shouldn’t have to give up being a mom to better my daughter’s life. I plan to change that once I’m in that seat.

The beginning of October I flew down to Dallas, TX to meet with , and a group of other women who have been denied an abortion. We had a very intimate discussion together and bonded through our experiences.
