Beautiful bathroom transformation for a repeat client of ours (turned friend) we completed recently.

Fixed up some damaged drywall, caulked and wood filled the board and batten (that the client did herself- GO HER! 👏🏼), skim coated the ceiling that had been roughly scraped from popcorn ceilings and merely painted over, painted the wainscot, trim, door, ceiling and walls.

I am going to be sharing several projects over the next month, of some of our favorite 2023 projects.

Pictured below, is a beautifully unique set of cabinets, that we were privileged to paint for some incredibly sweet, and extremely talented clients of ours.

They had us paint the entirety of the cabinets blue, except for the upper doors, which were painted white, as to not take away from any of the beautiful stained glass.

They had Wilkes Cabinets & More LLC remove the inner panels from the upper doors, and then the wife proceeded to hand-cut and solder each individual piece of glass, in order to make these exquisite stained glass doors.

After completion of the project, the wife wrote the most raving review of my team to her neighborhood page, and truly made our day.

I absolutely love getting to witness the relationships created between by team and our clients. Sometimes, by the time we wrap up a project, our clients feel more like friends we have to say goodbye to. It’s bittersweet! We love what we do and the people we meet along the way! ❤️

As stated in a previous post on my personal fb yesterday, my son’s father and step mother lost EVERY thing to the tornado yesterday. The pile of rubble seen in the pics/video is of THEIR trailer on Evan’s Road that was completely and utterly destroyed. In addition, both their vehicles were totaled by trees. While Michael (my son) thankfully only spends weekends there, his phone, air pods, hoodie, and only good school shoes were taken in the tornado, along with literally everything his father and SM own. It is so heart breaking! They are a one income family who I have no doubt spent all their extra money on Christmas gifts for their 3 kids, and have been left with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! 😭

Luckily, his dad’s parents live in Clarksville as well and so they DO have somewhere to stay for the time being, but it is going to be a long hard road trying to recover from this, and truthfully, it is going to take so MANY thousands of dollars to help rebuild what they have lost.

I can set up a go fund me, but truth is, i would like to see EVERY dollar go to their needs, so i ask that everyone plesse consider sending to me directly, and rest assured ill
make sure they get every penny.

Hello everyone! It has been a few months since we have made any posts, due to both myself, my family, and several team members having a rough go of things lately.

Without going into details about the things some of our team has been overcoming recently, a few months ago my father suffered a hemorrhagic stroke that left him temporarily paralyzed on the entire left side of his body. There were many weeks of chaos, work, and stress thereafter, as my sister and I worked together to sort out his affairs, make 4 hour round trips to the hospital in Jackson, try to get his SS and medicare set up, handle things at his home, get him transferred to a rehab facility and a month later move him to my sister’s home… and well, quite frankly, I was DROWNING and simply could not find enough time or energy in any given day to be able to keep up with all the demands of this business. In the midst of this tragic event, my family got sick twice for at least a week at a time, and other wrenches got thrown into the mix, including my oldest daughter totaling her car on the interstate while on her way to her new home in KY. 😫

Thankfully, my daughter miraculously hand nothing broken and suffered only minor cuts and pains.

My dad has also managed to regain much of his mobility, including recently being able to walk from one room to the other (slowly), which is a huge feat. He makes new strides every day and we are blessed to have him here with us. ❤️

PLEASE, if you had previously reached out and got no response or I made a promise or commitment and fell short on it, please feel free to reach back out, as after this upcoming holiday it is my hope to get myself caught back up!

The Rag Dolls have been transforming a lot of bathrooms lately! 😍 This one was so much fun to see come to fruition.

Our clients previously had a leak in the bathroom and a restoration company came out and gutted everything that needed to come out. We then took over to tile the floor, remove the old lighting and mirror, patch drywall, prime and paint the walls, install new lighting, vanity, mirror, toilet, and baseboards, and paint the trim and door.

Such a cute little bathroom now. I love the floors and mirror. 😎

Back story:

The owner of this home is a previous client of ours who moved out of state and hired a property management company to rent out this home for them. Home owner had previously put stick tiles on the bathroom walls all the way up above the shower. Later on, they decided to remove them and in doing so inevitably tore up the drywall.

Their PM company then hired a local paint company to repair the drywall and repaint the bathroom. From there, well, it all went down hill(see pictures)!

When I showed up, my jaw dropped. I literally could not believe that ANY company would leave a job like this. Despite any issues occurring that were NOT their fault, it is obvious whoever was doing the mud work in this bathroom had NO CLUE what they were doing.

The list of WRONGS is so long:
-The awful mud job
-painting over lumps of mud everywhere
-painting over adhesive left behind from the stick tiles
-nails sticking out all over the walls
-the bathroom vent was totally covered in dust and the sides of the tub had a coat of mud left on them. Nothing was cleaned well of at all.

Truly, the list goes on and on.

The biggest issue, is that the previous company did not properly address the underlying issue: When my client removed the stick tile, it pulled the top layer of paper away from the rest of the drywall, allowing rippling air pockets to form when mudded or painted.

The only proper solution? Cut and scrape ALL of the damaged paper off the boards, use a good sealing primer, sand well, and then build the walls back up with skim coats of mud.

This was definitely one of those “that escalated quickly” sort of jobs, but with some patience and lots of work, I was able to resurrect this nightmare of a job and make this bathroom beautiful once more! 😍

Both my client and her property manager were blown away with the completed product, and honestly, so was I. 😝❤️

This is a long post, but IMO, worth the read. (Please scroll through to the end of the pictures to see the finished product that WE left our clients with. ❤️)

If you’re going to take on a job as professional, you should first be able to ensure that you have the proper knowledge and skill set to do the job on a professional level.

Unfortunately for our clients, they recently hired a “handyman” by the name of Steven Lewis, whom, by our pictures you can clearly assume, had NO business taking on a job such as this, and yet… he did. 🥴😑

Our clients recently bought a home with somewhat of an open “bonus” area at the top of their stairs. They then hired Steven Lewis to frame the space in to create an extra bedroom in the home. They asked for him to “make it look like a room that was already there”, IE, they didn’t ask for it to be done as cheaply as possible, they asked for it to be done RIGHT.

For over $5,000, the first half of these pictures show what this “handyman” left the clients with, as a “paint ready” finished product. 😳😳😳

The list of WRONGS is very long, but I will list a few of the ones at the top of my list.

-The framework was completely WRONG! On top of not having proper stability (no king studs), nothing was straight or plumb. The integrity of the wood was ruined by screws busting through the wood.
-In addition,this guy obviously didn’t know how to size his rough opening properly, and as indicated in the photos, you can see that he must have made the opening for the closet too small, and therefore when he went to install the closet door, he had to cut a half inch off of each end of the doors in order to make them fit. And as you can see, on top of cutting the entire length of the doors, he did a very poor job at that.

-the baseboards do not even line up properly in the corners.

-Instead of properly taping and mudding the new drywall, he SILICONE CAULKED all the corners including caulking the existing ceiling to the new drywall.

-On the small side wall, I guess he lost his stud after putting up the drywall, so he didn’t even screw the drywall board to the stud in the middle, therefore when you pushed on the drywall board it had quite a bit of movement.

-When we arrived, the clients still didn’t have an entry door for the room, saying that Steven claimed it had been ordered and he was waiting for it to come in. Note that we were working on this home for 2 weeks, during which at NO point did Steven ever contact them to say the door had come in, meanwhile I ordered a door that perfectly matched the rest of the house and Home Depot had it ready for us in less than 5 days from the time it was ordered. So I wonder- was the door even ordered or did he run out of money and was waiting to collect money from his next victim before he could even afford to buy the door he said was ordered?!?!

-Instead of looking around locally for the trim that would match all the other door frames in the house, he just used some cheap flat boards to trim out the closet. Luckily, when we took over the job to tear things out and make them right, I was able to locate the exact trim from Orgains IN stock, no problemo!!! 😉

-And let’s not forget the 1960s slatted closet door he installed into this 2 year old home. 😒 All I can think is he saved this door from another job and thought he would save money reusing this, instead of finding doors that would better match the rest of the home. 😑

We ended up having to tear the majority of his work out, fix the framing, finish the drywall properly including texture matching the ceiling, installing matching trim, and then properly caulking, wood filling, priming and painting everything for a totally completed look! 😍

Our clients were so happy with our finished product and thankful for our knowledge and skills to get the job done right once and for all! 👏🏼❤️

At the end of this album, I also included a few pictures of other painting we did in their home, including a beautiful fireplace transformation.

People, PLEASE verify businesses skills somehow, someway before you hire people. Even if someone you knew recommended them- find a second opinion. Look for online reviews, and if they don’t have any, ask for a minimum of 3-5 references YOU can call and ask about their work. ESPECIALLY before willingly handing over THOUSANDS of dollars!

If a person or company does good work, SOMEONE will be willing to sing their praises. Our company has over 500 recommendations on. Facebook alone, and we are extremely proud of that. ❤️

While looking for cool rocks and shells in the shallow areas today, my husband discovered a women’s ring mingling on the bottom with the rocks. It seems to have been there a while just based on the metal discoloration on the ring part itself, but is still in very good condition, all things considered.

If you or anyone you know lost a ring in the red river, and want to message me a picture or description of the ring you lost, it is our hope that we can find the owner of this ring. It looks like diamond, but I don’t know if they are real or not TBH!

These are just a few of the projects my team has been up to the last 2 months. We have refinished more than 6 cabinet sets, installed LVP flooring in 2 homes, stained a gazebo, made a black painted door look like wood, put up a cute accent wall for a kid’s room, and painted TONS of ceilings, walls, doors and trim!

A lot of paint companies prefer empty homes and new construction because there’s less liability (not having to work around people’s stuff), and easier to get in and out of the jobs and avoid tons of prep. And while we certainly see the appeal and love a good empty home once in a while, I made the choice years ago to become THE interior paint company people wanted to call upon when they needed a team they could trust to take GREAT care of their homes and promise to leave your home cleaner than how we found it. The wife would check on us several times a day and ask if we needed anything. She made us fresh brownies one day, biscuits another, offered us hamburgers and kept the sweet tea and lemonade coming!! The husband was so flattering, complimenting our work daily and even telling friends of theirs that came by that “these women are spectacular”. I’m obsessed with this door transformation.

Client contacted us asking if we could make her front door look like a wooden door again as it once did when the home was built, and we were happy to take on the task.

A little paint, a little gel stain, and wa-la! A beautiful faux wood door. 😍 Our project manager Flo knocked this challenge out of the park. 👏🏼

Another set of cabinets painted for some great clients of ours. Once there, they also ended up having us caulk, wood fill and paint a bunch trim that another company left a mess of after doing a sub par job on their floors. We even bought and installed the rest of the shoe mold that never got put back on. 👏🏼
