I wanted to share with you some immediate steps I took when I realized I was burnt out a couple months ago from having a cluttered schedule. Hopefully it can help anyone else who needs it. I know there are some commitments that we can’t change, so remember to focus on the aspects that you CAN control and that everything is temporary. And most importantly, make sure your day includes time to reflect and unwind so that you can stay tuned into your mind and body. The coolest part about refocusing my time and doing positive things is that the universe immediately echoed that positivity all around me. I was asked to be interviewed for 2 magazines, I got booked by multiple clients, and I had a renewed excitement for my business. Does this inspire you to refocus in your life, too?

I need you to remember something for me, okay? When you see videos on social media of these perfectly organized houses, remember that it’s not an implication that you are somehow failing if your house doesn’t look that way (or if you can’t keep it that way).

And…remember that in between those beautiful photos and videos, sometimes things don’t look quite so perfect (OR there’s a whole staff in charge of keeping it that way all the time). 😉

You—with your kids that love to tear through the house and undo all the cleanup you worked so hard on, and your partner who piles his/her clothes clothes on the floor and not in the hamper—you’ve got a unique set of obstacles. 🤪 But you know what? In spite of the things you can’t control, you have a pretty awesome life. And the reasons you might want to get more organized can be reasons that suit YOU—not for what you think society wants from you. 👇👇

I have to share something with you about my own time management. I no longer want to be on my phone unless it’s unavoidable, so I took steps to make that happen.

Have you ever gotten those reports on your phone about how much screen time you’ve had per day? Well, that was a big wakeup call for me. I began to realize how much of my time—my LIFE—was getting sucked away by looking at my phone, and without much to show for it. A lot of my phone time was spent on social media: originally with the intent of catching up on friends’ lives, but ultimately being shown by the algorithms the same 15-20 posts from a handful of my friends. That didn’t stop me, though. I guess I hoped I’d eventually see something new? 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I felt anxious, the phone habits got worse. I would go into an unproductive loop. I’d send out an email and then refresh my Inbox repeatedly, while also cycling through my social media accounts to check for “newness.” Suddenly it was 2 hours later. 😳😵‍💫

So here is what I do now in order to keep my phone time to a minimum. I deleted all my social media except IG off my phone (so I have to check from my laptop). I created a list of all the phone activities that I absolutely need to do every day, and the frequency/time of day to do it. I check it off daily with a dry erase (in a plastic sleeve), and then put my phone away. The reality is, you don’t have to be reachable/respond immediately to people 24/7/365. I know society makes you feel that you have this obligation, and therefore other people’s expectations are high. But guess what? Unless it’s an emergency, people can wait a few hours to hear from you. We used to live that way in the 20th century and we were fine. I deserve to take back my time as my own, and so do you. 😘

I have a question for you! I am going to be expanding on the details of my wardrobe consulting and personal styling services this year. If you were to ask someone for help with your wardrobe, what are your biggest needs? For example:
-Do you need help with deciding what to keep VS donate?
-Do you struggle with putting together outfits that feel new?
-Do you need to go shopping but have no idea where to start, OR don't enjoy having to shop for yourself?
-Do you like fashion but have trouble keeping up with what's trending each season?

I'd love your feedback! FYI, I already offer all of the above as my services, but I want to create a very clear way for people to understand what I do and book for exactly what they want. Thank you!!

One of my "super powers" is that I'm really good at internet searches. I probably could make that into a service I offer for people. A lot of people don't have the time to spend hours shopping for the right product or finding the best deal. It can also be overwhelming. I actually thrive in digging through thousands of search results to find the right item. It's one of the reasons I enjoy shopping at thrift stores when other people may find it overwhelming.

Here's a good example. I'm sure many of you know this already, but in case you didn't, most furniture retailers are buying their products from the same original companies. That means if you like a particular item on one website, it's worth doing more research on the original manufacturer to find the best deal. In the case of Wayfair, they often are selling the exact same piece of furniture under different links on their site, but under different names AND different prices. You can also find a wide range of prices within the same product across different retailer websites. I made some comparisons yesterday and it was definitely worth the research before making any purchases.

Just a quick update! I am switching to a new scheduling/booking tool this month. You should not experience any disruptions as a result of this switch. Any of my clients currently booked through Square Appointments for the month of April will remain in Square. New client bookings will be booked through the new tool via 10to8. Future bookings with my existing clients will also be done through 10to8. The reason for the switch is that Square has started charging $300/year just to sync with Google calendar. Hopefully you'll find this new booking app easy to navigate. Feel free to share your feedback if you end up booking your own appointment that way. To book an appointment online, simply go to my website and click on the "Book Now" button.
