Yes, you read correctly! In Florida you need to take a boater education course and get your boaters license if you were born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, and will be operating a motorized boat of 10HP or more.

The good thing is float boating has you covered! If you fall under this category, we send you the direct link on where to get your boating license and you can legally be on your way! The process only takes 35 minutes to an hour so you can do it on the same day as your rental.

If you want to rent a boat BUT:
A)don’t feel comfortable navigating the waterways and would like a guide and some tips from a local, certified captain.

B)Need a refresher course.

C) Would like to take a boaters safety course taught by a certified captain.

D)want to relax and enjoy the day with your hand on your drink instead of the wheel.

We’ve got you covered! we can provide you with a list of certified captains that have been vetted out to insure you have the best experience on the water.

Meet Captain Biggie Smalls. This captain has been boating his entire life, over 63 years now!  REST assured you are in good paws! He grew up on beaches and boats. His favorite beach is Clearwater Beach, Florida!

All cuteness aside, Captains range from $40-60 per hour. The typical rate is $50 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours. After a good experience, our customers usually add a tip consisting of 15-20% of the boat rental.

Wether you are looking for a relaxing day just cruising or a day filled with excitement from tubing and island hopping, a captain allows you to have extra freedom to enjoy your day on the water.
