Why Form a Student An ti-Trafficking Collaborative?

We live in a world where slavery still exists. Girls, boys, men and women are sold for s*x in the United States; this is not a developing country problem. Victims are coerced into the underground criminal network because their bodies can be sold repeatedly. They are then trapped in a nightmare.

Younger generations are essential to bringing about human trafficking awareness in our communities. Green Light Network hopes to fill the gap between anti-trafficking professionals and students by forming an anti-trafficking collaborative where young voices are valued and nurtured.

The purpose of Green Light Network shall be to create a national anti-trafficking collaborative for young leaders. This goal will be achieved by providing an awareness building campaign. The Wake-Up Campaign provides students an opportunity to walk in the shoes of the human behind the trafficking label (i.e. trafficker, victim, John, or survivor) through participation in the Social Identity Simulation. Additionally, the Annual Blanket Drive & Installation provide the opportunity for the Student Chapter to bring about awareness on campus by using blankets to represent the number of s*x trafficking victims in the region.
