LPGA-USGA Girl's Golf First Tee Central Ohio

Tonight was real Fall Golf! At Heritage Golf Club tonight, the girls withstood the chill in the air and played golf!

They warmed up with exercises with our eLeaders and then headed out on the course in groups to play a couple holes.

The girls learned to play their own ball and how to play as a team. They put into action watching their ball and knowing who’s turn it is to hit and why! Some of the girls learned course management too! We are so proud of all they have learned!

Don't forget, next week is the make-up week! 10/21 is our Final class for Fall session!

OHSAA girls golf: Eva Lim, Columbus Academy lead field at Division II state tournament The Columbus Academy girls golf team leads the Division II state tournament through one round, and sophomore Eva Lim is first individually.

Tonight the girls at Blacklick Woods Metro Golf Course were able to get out on the 9-hole course!

All the girls split up into groups to play the course, getting in 4-5 holes each! The girls learned to play their own ball and how to play in a scramble.

The girls had such a blast out on the course! They saw golf etiquette in action, carried their own bags and walked the entire time, and really got to experience what playing golf is all about! Fall golf is the best golf!

What a beautiful Fall evening to get these girls out on the golf course to enjoy some golf!

They played as many holes as they could learning about aim, swing, some rules, etiquette and golf course management.

The best part was when they came in from the course, cupcakes were waiting! The cupcakes were to celebrate Coach Elizabeth’s birthday tomorrow!

After our rain delay and super soggy course last week, the girls were ready to hit the course tonight at Heritage Golf Club! The girls split up into groups to play a couple holes and they had a blast!!

Experiencing chip shots, focusing on aim, and learning general course management. Some girls even hit the ball over the water!

Fall golf is the best golf and the girls will get back out on the course next week! Our final class for this session is 10/21!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for throwing on an extra jacket and helping these girls navigate the golf course. We could not get them out on the course without you!

So Coach Denise was Caddie Denise yesterday at the U.S. Kids Golf Championship Tournament! Bellamy won the Silver! She had no penalty shots and no sand shots. She learned how to hit a ball that was up against a tree and to how to hit a ball when tall weeds are in her backswing! She had a great attitude, hung in there and came home with a medal and crystal. Weather was perfect for Fall golf. A great day!

The girls had a great time tonight at Blacklick Woods Metro Golf Course learning about tempo and distance control!At full swing the girls learned about swing tempo and relaxed arms!

At chipping, the girls learned about keeping a steady rhythm to their swings and swinging softer vs harder to get to their desired distance for points!

Putting tonight was about putting through different obstacles! They putted a through different tracks to earn points when the ball stopped in their target.

The girls at our Oakhaven location got to experience Fall golf tonight on the golf course! Thank you Oakhaven golf club for giving them this opportunity!

The girls had a great experience and it was a beautiful evening. The girls played a scramble and learned about golf etiquette and rules and keeping score!

Best of all the girls had fun with other girls! The friendships they are developing with each other is priceless. The best part of golf is golfing with your friends!

No Girls Golf Class at Heritage Golf Club tonight! The course is too soaked! Make up class will be added on 10/21!

Tonight at Oakhaven Golf Club the warmup was building a leaf pile then throwing the leaves in the air! Gotta love Fall leaves! The girls had a blast!

Our golf focus tonight was on balance, rhythm and tempo.

At full swing the girls worked on their balance, rhythm and tempo by standing on one foot during the swing. This shortened some back swings and smoothed out some downswings!

At chipping the girls worked in teams of 2 to see which team could get the most points. The good news is EVERY team scored points! Our highest scoring team had 11 points. The best thing about this station was seeing the girls cheer for and encourage each other!

Finally we had a blast with the putting games. We had 3 games for the girls: tic-tac-toe, the 3 rings, and finally the fan favorite: capture the ducks. These games taught about different length putts, aim and distance control all while having fun!

The night ended with the girls getting a long sleeve pink T-shirt to add to their Fall wardrobe!

Tonight was such a fun night out at Blacklick Woods Metro Golf Course! The girls were a blast from the start tonight! We started with our warm-up, waking up our body in order to really swing well and stretch before golfing. Tonight the focus was on BALANCE! The girls worked on this in their warm ups as well.

Putting was a fun set of games including Tic-Tac-Toe and Capture the Duck! The girls worked on distance control, balance in their stance, and swing basics.

The chipping station was target practice with hoops for the girls to aim at. The balance in their swing was tested when we had the girls hit the ball with their feet together and then with only one foot!

Full swing was all about balance!! Working on swing basics like stance, grip, and backswings, the girls worked on feeling the movement of the swing versus just hitting the ball. The girls had to hit the shots with their feet together and then again on one foot, both with irons and woods!

Congrats to long time coach Betsy Sherman for her win at Muirfield Village Golf Course to be the Ohio Women’s State Champion along with her golf partner, Michele!

They move onto the next level to be played at the luxurious Bears Club in Jupiter Florida in November!

We will be cheering for your win there too, Betsy!
