The Turkey Trot has been an exciting tradition in Cleveland since 1982 and consists of the 1 mile, 5K, or 5 mile run Thanksgiving morning (11/28/19). We invite you to join The Link Team in this event with the opportunity to sign up for any of the 3 events and walk/run off those Thanksgiving calories ahead of time!

This week's is on Harriet, our wonderful physical therapist. she's been here at The Link for the last 4 years. Her main focus is Provide physical therapy services to assist those with functional deficits to improve their mobility so they are able to return to work and/or their normal activity. She is certified in manual lymph drainage but plans to add neurodevelopmental treatment, dry needling, and women’s health to my repertoire.

One fact she thinks everyone should know is "I love our conversations!! We have been able to discuss a variety of topics in an open and non-judgmental environment. Their wisdom and insight have helped me personally and professionally. They are my “Link Family”💕"

A fun fact about Harriet is she changes her hair so often, her homecare patients are often confused when she returns to their homes!! Real life Catch Me if You Can!! However, being a physical therapist wasn't always her end goal. In high school, her desire was to be an engineer. Unfortunately, a family friend was injured and upon visiting them at the hospital, the compassion she felt was overwhelming. She knew then healthcare was her calling. Her company, Within Your Reach Therapies, provides physical and occupational therapy services for adult day centers, homecare agencies, and outpatient facilities. She has experience in acute care, long term acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient, schools, rehabilitation hospitals, and homecare settings.

Taylor is going to be a senior at Gannon University in the fall and is a double major studying both Sports Management and Marketing and Legal Studies. She plays varsity soccer at Gannon and wants to be a Sports Agent in the NBA.

Izan just recently graduated from Stark State with a degree in Marketing and Sales Managment I. He enjoys snowboarding and hiking. In April of 2020, Izan will be getting married!

this is to bring some awareness to those harmful UV Rays. Did you know there's actually two kinds of UV Rays? UV-B and UV-A Ray's are different because they pe*****te different layers of the skin. Four tips to minimize the risk of sun exposure are:
1. Cover up - Make sure you're wearing the proper clothing to provide protection.
2. Stay in the shade - Everyone loves the sunshine and to get a good tan but take frequent breaks to avoid over exposure!
3. Choose the right sunscreen - The FDA suggests your sunscreen have a minimum of 15 SPF and protect against UV-A and UV-B Rays.
4. Use the right amount of sunscreen - Most people only apply 25-50% of the recommended amount of sunscreen; use a palmful, at least one ounce, every two hours!
