The Presentation Guild
The preeminent organization for presentation creation and support professionals.
The preeminent organization for professionals involved in presentation design, delivery, support, and technology.
There are book clubs and then there are book clubs. The Presentation Guild Book Club is a great way to read books related, directly or indirectly, to what we're trying to do for a living every day - AND - also get to meet up with the authors of the books we read. A chance to ask in-depth questions on the topic of the book - and the book writing process itself.
On Tuesday, February 20, at 1.00 pm ET, Presentation Guild members get a chance to meet up with John Chen and ask him questions about his book, Engaging Virtual Meetings, which was our Q1 Book Club book. Not only will we get a chance to talk to him about that specific topic - but also about writing a book about your passion - John has been running virtual meetings in all forms and shapes for decades. And - will there be an Engaging Virtual Meetings 2.0 in the future.
The Presentation Guild Book Club Author Chat is open to all members, you don't have to have read the book to join and spend an hour with the ever amazing John Chen.

The Presentation Guild Specialist Certification Bootcamps are fast-paced workshops designed to help individuals review Presentation Industry Standards and prepare to take Certified Presentation Specialist Exam and Certified Presentation Expert Exam.
You don't have to do the Bootcamps to take a Certification Exam - but the Bootcamps will prepare you for the exams and help you review the material you'll be tested on - and the Exam fee is included of the price of the bootcamp.
You start with the Presentation Specialist Certification and then move on to the Presentation Expert Certification if you want to level up (you need to take the Specialist Certification Exam before you can move on and sign up for the Presentation Expert Bootcamp or take the Certified Presentation Expert Exam).
The exams are based on the Presentation Industry Professional Standards, published by the Presentation Guild. The bootcamps meets two hours daily for one week. The standards of knowledge and skills are categorized into nine areas of expertise. You will also have a session where you'll get to complete a practice test and focus on the mechanics of taking the test. The bootcamps are only open to Guild Members.
💡 Please note that this is a certification preparation course, not a PowerPoint training class. We will go quickly by necessity.

Let's elevate your presentation game! 💼
Come join us for this month's Guild Gathering on Thursday, 16 November
The theme for this month’s Guild Gathering will be “If you needed to double your earnings (while still in the presentation business), how would you do it?”
None of the things you say have to be profound, and your suggestion doesn’t even have to make sense. You never know how something you say might inspire another.
We have two times available for you to accommodate different time zones:
Gathering 1 at 1pm ET: https://presentationguild.org/events/november-guild-gathering-1/
Gathering 2 at 7pm ET: https://presentationguild.org/events/november-guild-gathering-2/
Join us for Book Club Chat #2 with the author Chantal Bosse who wrote the book MICROSOFT POWERPOINT BEST PRACTICES, TIPS, AND TECHNIQUES.
Giving great business presentations that stand out can mean the difference between getting and losing out on an important promotion, a critical client deal, or a grant. To start creating PowerPoint presentations that showcase your ideas in the best light possible, you’ll need more than attractive templates; you’ll need to leverage PowerPoint’s full range of tools and features.
TIME: Wednesday, 15 November, 1pm ET.

Sign up for a powerful learning session: Creating Print Presentations & Documents with PowerPoint?
People call them handouts, leave-behinds, slide docs, downloadables, or just “documents.” When you use PowerPoint to create something for distribution and meant to be read by a single person at any given time, it’s not really a presentation anymore—it’s a document. And it should be designed and treated as such. You could use InDesign or Word, but PowerPoint is actually surprisingly powerful for this format when you learn a few tricks and approaches. Nolan Haims, Microsoft PowerPoint MVP and Trainer, will show you how to use PowerPoint as a desktop publishing tool to create effective print and PDF materials.
Attendees will learn:
• The characteristics of print design and layout and what can be accomplished in PowerPoint
• How to design standalone print documents in PowerPoint at any page size
• Multiple strategies for creating companion handouts for on-screen presentations
• How to setup and use paragraph styles in PowerPoint (yes, it’s possible!)

Why get certified?
The Presentation Guild has created this certification process in keeping with our goals of promoting the presentation design and production industry as a profession, recognizing the skills and expertise of the presentation craftsman.
By acquiring certification, your presentation skills can be represented to peers, clients, and employers with recognized authority and clear identification of your skills. Our professional certifications reflect attainment of established criteria for proficiency and competency in the presentation industry. They require a specified amount of industry experience and are granted upon an assessment of an individual’s knowledge and skills.
There are three levels of certification (https://presentationguild.org/certification-info/)
Certified Presentation Specialist (CPS™) – PowerPoint
Certified Presentation Expert (CPE™) – PowerPoint, and
Certified Presentation Master (CPM™) – PowerPoint.
