Congratulations to Gage Martin. Gage started with us when he was 18 years old, working the back of a trash truck. Throughout the past few years he has learned a lot and worked hard. Today he passed his cdl test and now can move on with his career with us as a cdl driver. We love to promote growth from within for our employees who are willing to stick it out. This is a classic example of someone who “started at the bottom” and worked their way up. Thank you Gage for taking the time to learn how to drive and obtaining your CDL. We hope to have you around for many more years.

Out of an abundance of gratitude ❤, the Chardon Board of Education was pleased to nominate 4 Chardon businesses to the Ohio School Boards Association's Business Honor Roll 2024 this spring.

The OSBA Business Honor Roll provides Ohio's public school districts the opportunity each school year to showcase up to four organizations that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the schools.

Nominating local businesses for this prestigious distinction is an annual tradition of Chardon Schools. The District's 2024 nominees were honored at its June 17 regular Board meeting and are as follows:

Dumpster Bandit, a family-owned business specializing in curbside trash pickup and recycling collection, is a regular supporter of Chardon Schools. The business donated $1,000 to the Chardon Middle School teacher wish list this past school year. This generous donation will help to purchase a sublimation printer and cricut supplies for the school's digital media classes. Dumpster Bandit also volunteered as one of 30+ career speakers for the Grades 1-3 Careers on Wheels event this spring.

Dumpster Bandit is currently hiring for the position of a non cdl laborer. Job duties would consist of the following.

1. Drive a non cdl vehicle safely with a clean mvr

2. Collect refuse on back of a rear load trash truck with the assistance of a cdl driver

3. Drive and collect refuse by yourself in a non cdl collection vehicle.

4. Deliver roll offs in a non cdl roll off truck

5. Perform yard duties such as cleaning trucks, maintenance on trucks, greasing trucks, cleaning shop and yard, deliver and pickup totes in a pickup truck with liftgate, pickup parts, etc…

Qualified candidates must have non cdl driving experience and a clean mvr.

$18-$20 per hour depending on experience. 45-50 hours per week. O/T after 40 hours. Paid employee health care and $1 raise after 90 days. 40 hours of pto after 1 year of service.

Must be okay with a 5a-6a start time.

We are more than willing to train you for every task you will be expected to perform.

We will pay for you to obtain a class b cdl with a significant increase in pay.

Attention to detail and reliability is an absolute must. This is a fast paced industry with room for growth from within.

Dumpster Bandit is currently looking to fill a position of a CDL class b driver. Clean MVR and verifiable experience is a must. Join a growing locally owned business that never stops. This position is for a trash route driver. Qualified candidates will be expected to handle trash routes from 300-600 homes as well as dumping commercial rear load containers. The current position needed is for a rear load trash truck driver but we also have asl and roll off trucks and we’re consistently growing. Growth from within is a definite possibility. You will typically have a laborer on the back of the trash truck but you must be able to exit the vehicle to assist your helper when needed. Positive attitude is a must. 5am-3pm is our typical work hours. Around $56k per year to start. Paid employee health care after 90 days. Company issued iPhone and work boots. Attention valued customers. Due to rapid growth, we’ve reached a point where we absolutely have to make slight route changes. IF YOU ARE AFFECTED you will receive a notification in one of the following ways.

1. If you’re an email customer you will receive a notification the same way you receive billing.
2. If you’re a USPS customer, you will receive a notification the same way you receive billing.
3. We will also try very hard to place a bright orange or green sticker on your tote with our company logo and your new day of the week circled in permanent ink.

Some of Middlefield, Windsor, and Orwell customers that we pickup on Friday will be going to a Thursday pickup. Some huntsburg and (huntsburg/middlefield line) customers will be going to Tuesday. Please don’t make any changes on your end until you receive a notification in your email or usps or if you see a bright green or orange sticker on your tote. These changes will take place over the next several weeks with some others to come. Please don’t be worried about the adjustment. We will try very hard to notify everyone that this pertains to and if a mistake happens and you’re not notified we’ll send a truck out the first couple weeks to make every situation right as usual. If we have to switch your area, it will unfortunately be the way it is and we won’t be able to do anything different. It is necessary for us to make certain changes from time to time to help maintain trash collection in the most affordable way possible for our customers as well as our business. Please wait till you receive a notification and please be patient if we do make a change to your pickup day. As always, thank you for supporting a local family owned business.
