Meet our newest studio member Yaren Guleryuz.

Yaren is passionate about design. For her, design allows her to blend creativity with functionality, shaping environments that inspire and enhance lives. She has discovered project management in retail store design is a perfect match for her passion.

Before joining Jencen, Yaren worked in design of residential and commercial mixed-use complexes. She also worked for a construction company that built luxury summer homes in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Yaren is fluent in Turkish and English. Away from the Jencen studio, she enjoys designing furniture and bringing those designs to life through modeling and craftsmanship. Yaren also loves hiking, swimming, and cooking.

We look forward to the innovative ideas and energy Yaren will bring to the Jencen design studio.

IT office remodel boosts morale and team productivity. The neutral color palette with pops of color is easy on the eyes. The sleek new kitchenette provides a designated location for workers to fuel up throughout the day and mingle with coworkers. And, of course, it’s a great place to grab a fresh cup of coffee.

Eco-Friendly Design for Restore Maine Flagship

Entrepreneurs and wellness enthusiasts, franchisees, Steve and Katie Woods of TideSmart Global selected Jencen to design the very first Restore Hyper Wellness location in Maine. The Woods purchased a 6,400 square foot former Bass Shoe Outlet building for the anchor flagship plus two other wellness-based provider tenants. Collaboratively, the utilitarian building was reimaged with a fresh organic eco-friendly design that supports the Woods’ vision and the Restore DNA. The flagship also includes energy efficient replacement windows, LED lighting, solar panels, EV charging stations and more to embrace the eco-friendly objectives. Interiors feature a clean, elevated environment where clients ultimately relax and refresh. Restore signature blue hue can be found throughout along with inspirational quotes and mantras. The layout is strategic and organic to guide clients through the variety of therapy offerings including the mainstay Cryotherapy chamber.

With over 200 hundred locations, Restore Hyper Wellness is an industry leader and innovator in the holistic wellness segment. Jencen is proud to be part of Restore’s exciting growth - creating beautiful and relaxing locations!

FOSTERING HOPE

Making a difference in the community can be made with baby “kitten” steps. Jencen’s Susan Abdeldayem recently fostered an adorable kitten for a local rescue group. She named the kitten Ninja because he sneaks up on you like one and he’s got the ninja moves. Susan also notes, he is the sweetest little boy. Susan got involved until a permanent home could be found. She shared, “This brave, playful boy was only looking for love that he didn’t get at home, so I took him in to give him love until they find his permanent home.”

As of this post, Ninja was placed in a loving, forever home.

Store Design for Celebration & Consumable Joy

Jencen Architecture is celebrating the first Red, Wine & Brew (RWB) store design in Westlake, OH. It's the first RWB brand evolution prototype for the regional purveyor of wine, craft beer and spirits. Beyond liquid libations, RWB offers ci**rs for aficionados. Bold interior signage around the perimeter tells the RWB story. It shares what they sell and who they are. According to general manager Paul Allen, “We are ‘Discover’ and ‘Celebrate’ – it’s what we offer our customers”. With this new, branded environment, RWB is poised for growth in new markets regionally and future growth nationally. The Jencen design team is excited to be part of RWB's brand evolution.

Alissa and Susan’s Excellent Adventure @ 2022 IRDC

Jencen design team members Alissa Adler and Susan Abdeldayem returned from the 2022 International Retail Design Conference - IRDC feeling excited and inspired! The IRDC is an annual educational and networking event for the store design and visual merchandising communities.

The two-day event highlights include a session with Jeni Britton, founder of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, on creating a truly unforgettable experience for your customers. Alissa and Susan agreed it was unforgettable meeting Jeni! To get the creative juices flowing, the team attended the annual Iron Merchant Challenge - it’s a mashup of improvisation, creativity, and design science. They also participated in 2 energizing workshops. Finally, leaving the conference rooms behind, Alissa and Susan joined the popular IRDC Retail Inspiration Walking Tour. Notable walking tour highlights from the Columbus, Ohio Short North Arts District include On Paper, TENSPACE, and FERA.

GLAM is Back with the Zales @ Fashion Show in Las Vegas

We are excited to be part of the latest Zales location at the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. The Jencen team was instrumental in the implementation of the design. The massive 22’ high storefront is a glamorous showstopper. The materials are 2” square wood battens around the perimeter of the store, with LED lights in between. Adding to the drama, the entry portal and beam are black ACM. The illuminated storefront sign is mounted to glass and seemingly floats above the entry. On the tall soffit behind the storefront sign, wood trims are a decorative abstract of the Zales logo. The wood battens continue inside the store and create the focal walls at each side of the space, incorporating illuminated signage and recessed monitors.

Say “Hello” or “Marhaba” to Susan Abdeldayem, our newest addition to the team. Susan is a dynamic, world traveler fluent in Arabic and English. As an energetic recent architectural graduate, she is ready and eager to take on all the ropes of branded design.

Susan pursued architecture because she views every project as a blank canvas that can be made into anything – the possibilities are endless and exciting. She is inspired by visionary and critically acclaimed architects Zaha Hadid and Norman Foster. Her favorite city is Florence, Italy. Similar to her fun and charismatic personality, Susan’s self-proclaimed “Happy Place” is Disneyland Paris.

We are thrilled to have Susan on the Jencen design team!

Outside the Studio features Jencen designers doing what they do best in their own personal space. Jencen interior designer, Alissa Adler and her beau, Josh, recently completed construction on their home in suburban CLE with focus on a fabulous outdoorsy experience inside and out.

What Alissa says: We love to entertain and have a gorgeous backyard so an expansive great room / kitchen that flowed into an outdoor living space was a must. My favorite element in the house is the windows - they bring in lots of natural light throughout - it's always cheery, even with our long Northeast Ohio winters! Our pampered feline Madelyn (pictured in the great room) loves the new space too, especially the big windows!

Meet Jencen Rockstar and Visual Arts Director Kateryna Yarema

Kateryna brings ideas to life - real life, with her own sensitive style and concentrated attention to detail. Jencen’s clients appreciate these remarkable traits and her Rockstar skills. So much, recently our client, Signet Jewelers, was so impressed with Kateryna’s work she calls her an actual “Rockstar” (seriously, we have the email to prove it).

Her Recent Design Collaborations:
Multi-Tenant Development, Aurora Road, Bainbridge, Ohio; Zales, Prototype Development; Kay Jewelers, Prototype Development; Things Remembered, Prototype Development; CORA Physical Therapy Centers, Prototype Development

Jazzagals and Retail Store Design:
As a designer, and a vocalist, Kateryna sees the same artistic collaboration process on her Jencen design teams as she does with her voice ensemble (for Schitt’s Creek fans, think Jazzagals). Working on numerous Jencen design efforts, she sees the same beautiful rhythm, repetition, and ultimate harmony. She says, “the real gratification in retail store design is walking into the store and feeling completely immersed in that design harmony.”
